Illinois 75, Indiana 71 OT Postgame

If we get second half Kofi.....Trent's last two games...and Belo playing less like a freshman like he did tonight.....we are going to be a nasty out in the tourney's.
Ummmm...you didn't mention Ayo? Assuming you are doing what I do and assume 15+a game.

Ayo is Ayo.....he was a little soft tonight, but he's not going anywhere. He came back for the tourney. He will be an All American.

Tonight showed this team can rely on each other and not just stand back and watch Ayo. They will need that in March.

As soft as their D was in the first half...it was fantastic in the second. Take away the fouls and they absolutely smothered Indiana.

I love the kid. He's going to be special. He IS special at times, including some tonight.

He's a human highlight but also sometimes a human lowlight. He had plenty of both kinds of plays tonight.

I'm sure he'll grade out as a net positive tonight but I don't think enough to say he won this game.

He had 12 pts 5 bds 4 assists 2 stls and one turnover and shot 50% from the field \\

He finished 3rd in scoring and rebounding and first in assists and steals all while playing only 24 minutes with 4 fouls and those 24 minutes were the 6th most on the squad .

Yeah I think its safe to say he had a huge impact on us winning this game

wow....what was that ? Do B1G refs get overtime pay and bonus's for reviews ?
That was painful to watch with the pain tempered by gutting out a great roadkill win....
The B1G is without a doubt the best conference in the country....
The B1G refs, not so much...
Ride the waves Illini
12-5 overall
8-3 in the B1G
I love my Illini

He has trouble when they double him on top and force him left. His 5th foul the official should come to the locker room and apologize. It just does not get any worse, oh wait the 5th on GB was even worse.

This game has to be looked at by the BIG. On ESPN, both announcers basically embarrassed for the refs. How can the BIG allow this to continue?

someone said the National Championship game was officiated worse, it was officiated worse regarding one sided towards May doing whatever he wanted. But this? This was totally ineptitude on both sides. Those 3 refs were the worst I have ever seen. I would be upset if I was an IU fan to loose the game, but what can you do just call a foul on every possession? It was simply terrible. I hope the director of officials is called out by ESPN for this display of total inability to allow a game to occur?
You're right here. When help side defense stops his dribble, he has a hard time getting it going. This is actually the same affliction that Adam Miller has.

Is there a 1-800 complaint line we can use to call the BigTen to demand better referees? That was an embarrassment to our league on ESPN. Just awful.
Total waste of time. No excuse for Big Ten refereeing to have very been allowed to get this bad, and it will talke an awful lot more than a phone call or two to fix it.

Whew. At some point my bleeding O&B became bleeding B.O. Tough game to watch. Just glad to come away with the win. On to the next one.

We got our 5th Quad 1 win back (Penn State at home dropped to Quad 2 tonight).

IMO, this was the equivalent of a round of 32 game. Indiana on the road is equivalent to a 7 seed on a neutral floor. My fear was an off game by Ayo would cost us in the 2nd round. That's my biggest takeaway.
