Illinois 75, Wisconsin 60 Postgame

This is so on the money. Curbello had a bad game against a bad match up for him. He is a fresh for gods sake. He will play in the tourney and he will turn some heads this year.
On AC.....he "has" turned heads, and as you allude, looking forward to more turned heads in tourney too!

And just when you think Ayo can’t be any better, you hear him in an interview. This kid is a pro in every sense of the word. You can tell he was brought up the right way with good role models.
Family matters. It's the biggest thing to consider when looking at success in one's life.

Or his worst. He doesn't seem to be learning much.

I don’t think Miller played poorly. Hit a couple 3s and played pretty good D. Not a monster game by any stretch but overall solid.
6 points on 5 attempts with 1 assist, 2 steals, and only 1 turnover and 2 fouls in 26 minutes is a pretty solid stat line against a Top 25 opponent for a freshman.

This game was the Ayo + Kofi show with Grandison, Miller, Frazier, Bezhanishvili, and Williams just taking the easy points that were given to them.

There are really only 3 negatives on the stat sheet.
1. Trent was 1 of 7 from deep.
2. The team had 18 turnovers (7 from Ayo and 4 from Curbelo).
3. Despite doing nothing 'wrong' Hawkins didn't see more than 4 minutes, yet again.

Now that the rest of the B1G slate for today is complete, here's updated PPP stats:

Illinois actually clearly establishing themselves as #2 right now while Michigan continues to not play. OSU/Iowa are tight for 3rd/4th and Wisconsin has really dropped off of late into a virtual 5-6-7 dead heat with Purdue and Rutgers. Those 7 teams are clearly safely in the tournament at this point.

Past that, Indiana is a solid team with troubling NET stats, Penn State is almost back to .500 against easily the most brutal schedule in the country, so who knows what to do with them, and Minnesota really needs to pick up some wins here soon or they'll be in trouble overall. Maryland is also a borderline tournament team but might be behind PSU in the pecking order right now.

MSU looks even with Maryland, but they've effectively played both their gift Nebraska games already AND their Northwestern game (and lost!), so the rest of their schedule will be unforgiving.

Northwestern had won their opening 3 games (against MSU, Indiana and Ohio State), but hasn't been able to do anything since. Still get a game against Nebraska, and could surprise a team or two that have had a long layoff (which is why it's important to get some kind of game in for Illinois in the next 9 days), but they've effectively played themselves out of serious NCAA contention.

Nebraska...played a game this week, which is a huge step.

Outside of Kofi's travel that should have been a foul and the BS flagrant on Damonte, I can't even complain about officiating today. Only 26 fouls called overall. The officials from the Indiana game need to take notes.
My only gripe with the Technical Foul on Williams is that the refs didn't call it live. That meant that the play moved forward and Kofi picked up a foul and Wahl got to shoot additional shots. If there had not been the under 12 TV timeout at that moment, the ref's wouldn't have gone back and looked at that play and assessed a foul. I disagree with their ability to go back and assess additional fouls on the play that occurred before since the action that occurred after wouldn't have happened if they had made the call live.

The Badger blog site is all over Bo Borosky. They were complaining before the game that they saw BB as an official. It is nice that other teams have issues with BO.

Kofi is getting a little more agile lately, made a 8 footer early and showing some surprisingly quick spin moves. He is realizing dunks have the highest percentage though.
