And we're off to a fantastic start. Curbelo is so fun to watch!

Way to put the game away. Will have to play better on Sunday. GB can’t miss the bunnies.

8 years since we won an NCAA tournament game. I can barely remember where I was and what I was doing in March of 2013.

I am one of the naysayers who didn’t believe BU had the temperament to succeed here, and I expressed that thought after one of our early season losses. I was wrong. I have seen BU change his offense and defense to something that works at this level and with the talent he has, but I think an equally important part of it is Ayo’s buy in and leadership. This team just keeps surprising me.

Good first game, bigger things to come. Boys played loose and looked like they were having fun!! A lot of weapons!!

Dominated an inferior opponent after a slow start. That was fun!

I don’t know why Ayo was still out there with two minutes to go with the game well in hand. That’s the only thing that bothered me today.
Going for the triple double. I don't mind it given the circumstances.

This was Illinois' largest margin of victory in the NCAA tournament since 2001, where they beat Northwestern State 96-54.

My only guess would be he had an outside shot at a triple-double.

He had also missed a couple of layups and has looked a little off since the Iowa game. I think it was as much about letting him get his mojo back a bit in a low stress situation as it was chasing a triple double. Which he did.

A little jittery to start but a nice, workmanlike win. Onto the next!

No time for champagne as we're obviously still in the colosseum and far from the last gladiator standing...

But I'ma definitely take a moment to appreciate a 4-years-in-the-making first NCAA tournament win for our seniors. These men paid for this with a whole lot of hardship and endless servings of suffering.

Life moves so fast, y'all. Gotta celebrate things that deserve celebrating. Hope Trent and Damonte get a moment to sit down, slap hands, and just nod at each other, knowingly, on some "this took 4 MF years, yo - and it most definitely feel good."

But, really, for all of us:

This took some MF years, yo - and it most definitely feel good.
