Maybe I missed it but has anyone brought up Robert Archibald stepping on Dane Fife? I think I remember that but don't remember anywhere near the kind of uproar AG is getting. Tried to find it on youtube but no luck.
Dane Fife deserved it though

Alright, he didn't embody the spirit of collegiate competition and wasn't the shining example of what we want a U of I basketball player to demonstrate at all times on and off the court. But this is a sport, this is a physical sport and while I don't agree with what he did, I can understand it. Fights break out all the time when playing this game. Even "old" man pick-up games emotions run hot sometimes. These are supposed to be well established individuals who are supposed to be "wise" but when playing a physical game, the brain doesn't work as it should all the time. AG just had a physical player fall on his leg and wrongly took it as intentional rather than accidental. If you look at AG's knees, they locked and I'm happy that the play didn't injure him. That said he was wrong and it was completely beneath him to do that, but as a teenager you're prone to mistakes and let's take it as that.
He is probably the second most emotional player on the team. That has propelled him to the player he was all those games before yesterday's game. But he let it get too wild and he was out of control. I'm sure he got it worse from his dad than from BU or anybody else. He let his team down and this could've been a disaster of a game, but we should keep an eye out for this behavior and if he starts to show a pattern...then of course, we start to worry. But for now I will chalk this up to immaturity/stupidity and hope he learns and grows.
Thanks for posting.Excellent article from CBS Sports on Underwood admitting defeat and the need for change and doing so. Article is well researched.

Good coaches learn as well as the players. However knowing what to change and how is even more difficult. Have to believe his assistants also deserve credit. Problem with players and assistants doing well is they leave for better opportunities. Antigua and Kofi top my ādonāt want to loseā list.Excellent article from CBS Sports on Underwood admitting defeat and the need for change and doing so. Article is well researched.

I'm all for kicking Purdue while they are down, over and over again if you get the chance..... Lots of virtue signaling on this board.
I think there was at least some reason to question, but no doubt he has done a great job of molding this team and reinventing his coaching style to fit it. I admit I doubted. After all the hand wringing and questions about BU's coaching chops last season and early this season, it's time to have that same type of reaction on the positive side after reading about what he's doing with this years team.
It's not just impressive, it's possibly unprecedented, and amazing. Lock this staff in place JDubs! The future is bright!!
Where's my shades??

6-2 in conference with a title a very real possibility. Somebody pinch me.
The Closer!Ayo is cold-blooded.
I'm thinking that this team's potential is higher than any team we've had since 2005. To add to that, there is no great team or teams in the NCAA this year. More parity both in the league and in the NCAA.
We went from 40 to 32.Ok. My post game question after every game. What will that do to our NET? We keep winning and it keeps going higher.
We had a very young team last year and then we add Kofi this year. They had to get used to playing together, define rolls and then the confidence rises. This is going to be a very fun season!Gotta give BU a lot of credit. Don't know what he did Xs and Os wise but these guys are clicking.
The Boilers have officially entered the danger zone.Excuse me, Purdue 47.
Griffen apologized to the team/staff at half. He know/admits he screwed up royally. Kids do dumb things, he'll sit a bit and hopefully grow from it.Was so frustrated in the first half with this game because of Griffin. So glad he got ejected. Pathetic decision on his part, just admit you intentionally stepped on him and apologize. He has been involved in multiple bad actions like this.
So pumped about the second half of this game! What a dominant performance by the Illini! We are really stepping up and it is fun to watch!
PU looks lost without Carsen Edwards - he made up for alot of sins.
This whole thing changed when they moved Trent to be the primary ballhandler again. Everything fell into place.
Don't forget Ryan Kline drilling 3s all the time either. I din't think that they could replace those two guys and they haven't.Does Edwards get 10% of Painters earnings from the past 4 years?

That made me go find this.
Man, I wish Damonte had about half the offensive confidence and skill that his dad had.
We were talking about that last night after the amazing win. I wouldn't want to be AG having to explain that to Adrian....ouch. I know how pissed I'd be if my son/daughter did something that stupid! Not nearly enough complimentary comments on here about BU, since he has gotten so many about him being a know-nothing, blah blah blah blah blah! I've seen him change his ways in more way than one and I laud him for it. The last couple of guys never could. And yes, laud is a real word, not a typo. I also don't condone what AG did, and we've all noticed he's got a bit of dirty in him. I will give him the benefit of the doubt only because it could have been retaliation, for what someone else mentioned earlier about the leg action, or it could have been something that happened earlier in the game or a couple of weeks ago. I don't think he's a thug, I 'm guessing it was revenge. Still not cool, and especially not out in the open. I think a one game suspension would be about right, plus he loses his beach house in whatever his favorite month is. Plus, he'll have to deal with not only BU, but his dad.
This Purdue team beat Michigan State by 29.And don't forget Haas, Mathias, Swanigan, and Vincent Edwards. To be honest and not to minimize last night's win, but this is not a very good Purdue team compared to the last 5 or 6 years,
