FIFY.
The W is all that counts.
The W is all that counts.
Must be a trait shared by orange and blue teams.Staff doesn’t know how or when to use timeouts
At this point, that's just who we are and it will bite us again at some point. We had a 16-point lead with 6:08 left and then just limped to the line. We need to get better at closing out games.
I thought we didn't not win.No. We won but we didn't win.
We had more points than the other team at the end of regulation, but we had fewer points than them the last 6 minutes, which is known to negate the former accomplishment.I thought we didn't not win.
I was more annoyed when we called a timeout and the play that we got was a stepback KJ three at the end of the shot clock. My thing is i don't want us to hold every shot till the shot clock ends when we have a good lead like we used to do in the weber days and then get completely out of the flow of the offense. But that quick 3 from boswell got underneath my skin a bit cause for 1 that's a shot we could get anytime desired.what I'd like to see us do when we have a good lead is to continue to probe the defense and move the ball not just chuck up a bad 3 with 20 seconds on the shot clock and sadly boswell has done that multiple times this season.it makes me wonder if Brad has pulled him to the side and say whether in film room or etc saying you know we can literally get that shot anytime we want let's work the clock and run within the offense for a better shot.but a win is a win ILL
And this is why we have difficulty closing out halves.I want to throw this out there because I'm not sure people remember(maybe because he's from overseas)......KJ is only a freshman.
WR is only a freshman
Morez is only a freshman
Tomi is only a freshman (on court freshman)
Four of our main rotational pieces are freshmen and we're going to win 20 games again. Let that sink in.
That drove me nuts when Weber's later teams did that. The players got so tentative. I would rather have the players relaxed and not worried to take a shot. That said, lately we've been on the other extreme. And you're right Boswell in particular has taken some really bad ones. I don't get it because I know he's a smart player. My thing is i don't want us to hold every shot till the shot clock ends when we have a good lead like we used to do in the weber days and then get completely out of the flow of the offense. Bingo!!A very satisfying if flawed win.
It all starts with the Orange Krush, and the Krush is just not the same as it used to be. There have been some years where the team was not nearly as good as this one where the environment was a lot better. I hope they all prove this wrong on Saturday, but it has been sad to see the decline for a student body that has seen some damn good teams these last few years.BIGGEST TAKEAWAY:
After 34 hit his 5th or 6th 3, Underwood called a timeout and Hamer (I'm pretty confident) went to say something to Brad and his immediately stopped him and looked like he was ready to steal his soul. Hamer sat down and looked like his puppy got hit by a car. I'm pretty certain Brad was enraged by the gameplan and issues we were having with 34.
Maybe it's just me, but I actually thought the crowd was terrible tonight. There were times when we increased the lead past 10 and the place should've been ROCKING and impossible to hear and it was nearly silent. Maybe I'm just getting older but it just doesn't feel like the crowd has a killer instinct either.
Admittedly as he has proven to us all season, Bos does have his loose ends to clean up, but my goodness can he hit his free throws!!!My god I hated when Weber's later teams did that. I would rather have the players relaxed and not worried to take a shot. That said, this season's we've been on the other extreme. And you're right Boswell in particular has taken some really bad ones.

hardly anything new, but KJ is way too loose with the ball. it's maddening, because it seems like he hasn't recalibrated on risk/reward
other than that, he's pretty good
And this is why we have difficulty closing out halves.
He mentioned that he has been talking with Tre and they are slowly working him back from his illness. He practiced yesterday and Brad anticipates in getting up to speed going forward. What did he say?
That was exactly what I told my dad (he doesn't have a subscription). Some of the most beautiful offensive basketball for ten minutes in the second half and then we hit the 5 minute mark.I don't think think we had a good possession on either end of the floor between 5:00 and :30.
But this was a get the W any way you can kind of game and we did that. Bring on Sparty.
Was great seeing the King back and getting honored.. How ever that crowd and half empty student section in cheap seats was embarrassing as a long time fan. Krush overflow or students need their butts kicked. If you are not going to show then don't buy tickets.
Basketball is a game of runs and lulls. You generally aren't at top of your game for 40 minutes.
So no turnover on the inbounds. That's a win.I was more annoyed when we called a timeout and the play that we got was a stepback KJ three at the end of the shot clock.
I will always remember how fun this was.![]()
Just a more solid version of this![]()
