Smart and mature move by Dain to slow play the season so there would be less film on him when it came time for the tourneys.

We got a Dain Game.
A team from Kentucky runs into a tornado from Illinois. Fighting Illini ground the Eagles.
It was Illini 57, Morehead St. 48 when we heard ... “Dain Dainja has TAKEN OVER THE GAME! On a Big-Time stage!”... from the great Brian Barnhard.
For the second time in just the past few days... Dain Dainja completely changed the trajectory and outcome of a key Illini game. Helpless defenders were left angry and confused and shaking their heads and without an answer for the big man... an old-school-style roundball game like as played years ago where the Big Man in the Middle would dominate the floor.
And along came the Illini Gunner from Indiana contributing with some Sweet Threes. And the Best Player on the Floor and the Big Ten doing his usual megastar act. And a Triple Double from an Illini star from the Cheese State.
With nine minutes to go.... Morehead is already exhausted and demoralized. And wondering... WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!
Illini took the best game punches Morehead had... they held in there strong... and then just took the game over.
This is kind of game we in Illini Nation want to see from Our Beloved. Grabbing hold of a tournament game and putting it safely away in the win column.

Took a while but great win! Turned up the effort and intensity on D and that was all she wrote! So impreassed by Dain in the last 2-3 weeks. He's improved defensively A LOT. Survive and advance!!

It'll be interesting to watch Underwood's presser. He seemed to have some very good words for Preston Spradlin after the game, finished with a respectful tap on the shoulder.
