I don't want to be accused of being someone who complains about the officiating every time we lose. That being said, we won and the refs really sucked. That was not a neutral court. Makes the win even sweeter.
Start around page 17 . . .Instead of watching a replay of the second half for entertainment, think I might read second half of the game thread instead. I am sure people were losing their minds.
I really like that this was not long ago.March 2, 2021 against Michigan in an epic Ann Arbor beat down without Ayo.
I believe this is only top 2 AP true road win.
Exactly, we didn't look great against Syracuse and win by 30... Have a horrendous 10+ minute stretch on a neutral site against #2 and win going away in OT.This team man. Here’s what’s scary. I don’t think we are even clicking together yet. This is all talent and heart. Wait until these kids start getting used to playing together.
I would think the time missed to the knee injury is still at play. Maybe he just needs more court time to be sharp.Skyy's potential is...well...high....but Epps and Sencire are doing so much to earn PT right now. Just absolute dogs.
As advertised.
Did he have that bad a game? He was in foul trouble. I didn’t really think that he was that bad. Just the officials took him out of the game. One other thing about Epps. He had a really bad game @Maryland in front of his fam and friends and came back in the very next game on a HUGE stage and stood the F up. That is just so big for a freshman. So glad for him.
I don't know stress. And I DID NOT kill my sister-in-law!
Last time we beat an AP top 5 team in OT is 1966Anyone care to look up the last time we beat a Top 2 ranked team away from the Assembly Hall?
I knocked myself out one year on a buddy's garage wall and slept it off in the conveniently located dog bed. That comes immediately and almost simultaneously after the wall, haha.
Or what happens when really blocks aren't called charges. The point was made during the broadcast that Illinois didn't have a turnover for like the last 9 minutes of regulation and overtime. Amazing what this team can do when they play under control.
And after missing the late shot against Maryland…kid is a winnerEpps has ice water in those veins. Huge game for a freshman, at the garden, on national stage.
Good thing we have all year to get betterAnyway let's just say it: we need to be less of a mess if we want to be the kind of team everyone can see is possible

Skyy will be fine. I love that the Illini have other options. When he cuts down on TO's and plays a little better on defense he will be in there at crunch time too. Coach correctly just played the hot hand tonight and the boys took over.I would think the time missed to the knee injury is still at play. Maybe he just needs more court time to be sharp.
Yep, Brad and the rest of the guys should get some kind of award for this recruiting class. One other thing about Epps.
