Nah. Redshirts passed with the paleolithic age. That's just the truth, not wishful thinking about the good-old days (which I do annoying engage in, so don't take this as criticism!) NIL, transfer portal, and something never discussed -- pre-college development is very very far ahead of what it was decades ago -- have change the issue of redshirting. That development is NOT complete (please note this, enthusiastic critics!). Nor is it a full replacement for proper strong college coaching (and yelling, ask Ayo). But entering freshman are much further along than in the 80s, 90s, 00's, teens. They just are, and anyone coaching at this level can see it.
So yes, I wish these young fellas (Bardo lingo, I know) could and would accept a bit more collegiate-level coaching. It matters. But the treadmill is starting earlier, like in other parts of our changing (you don't have to like it) civilization.
