I know I should expect it and accept it, but the amount of overreaction on this board is incredible. Takes that this or that player needs to sit the rest of the season because they have a bad game or two are just nuts.
BU has a very tough job coaching this team - there are 8 different players that have been the best player on the floor for one or more games, and those same 8 players have had games where we would have done better with them getting few minutes. Players have good and bad days; teams scout recent results and counter them; and opponents have different strengths and weaknesses. Just because DGL, KB, WR, and MJ were good yesterday, doesn't mean that KJ or Tomi or Ben or Tre won't be the one to carry the team during the next game.
The team also has games where we destroy other teams by relying on the 3pt shot, and many other where our poor shooting from 3 keeps the other team in the game. I see the 3pt shot as the same as a pass in football with drives to the basket the same as running plays. Most teams run the ball to open up the pass, but you can do the opposite. We need to drive the ball to open up the three and vice versa. Defenses have adjusted and now close out and to run us off the 3pt line. A lot of our 3pt shots lately have been hurried. Once we start pushing the ball into the lane, defenses will start collapsing and we will see our 3pt opportunities start to improve. Too many people see tactics as a static thing.
Coaching is a very inexact science, and being highly reactive isn't always a good thing. BU is deliberate - he generally sticks with things until they are "proven" erroneous. This team is a tough one to coach because they are young and therefore inconsistent.
