He needed one rebound in the final five or six minutes to get that triple-double and couldn't get it. So weird. I'd be crashing every offensive take to get that. For almost having a triple double Braden wasn’t very efficient….

It's was all part of the plan, get them over confident and comfortable, then boom, put the hammer down and they cant handle it..../sI just wanna know who's idea was it to not stunt the gaps on braden Smith or double Kauffman renn until the final 3 minutes.
Oh man, things are setting up nicely for him to really burst onto the scene in the post season.Well, well, well ... I love beating Purdue and Michigan within a week of each other ...
All 5 starters in double figures ...
When Tre rebounds ... The rest of his game opens up ... I will continue to say it ...
Will Riley is playing himself into the lottery conversation ...
KJ ... Onions ...
Ben ... Best game in an Illini uniform ...
20 wins for 6 straight seasons ... 1 of 4 teams to do that in all of CBB ... That is ELITE ...
I said it pre game ... We shoot above 30% from 3 ... Not many teams can beat us ... 37% tonight ... 17-2 when shooting 30%+ in games ...

I'm still mad about that foul call on JK when he blocked a shot and they awarded 3 FT's. Horrible call.Lots of texting with my Purdue kids. 100% agreement that Big Ten refs suck.
My prediction, DGL will have a moment in the BTT or NCAAT or both. With DGL struggling, I do agree. Let's hope DGL can find a rhythm and contribute consistently. KB is stepping up for sure!
I was watching with a Purdue fan (I know, I know :If we run into them again, might as well double TKR the whole game and not have anyone guard Furst. I don't know what Purdue sees in that kid to let him start
Some on here think he never has them playing good ball….everIs anyone surprised Brad has the team playing their best ball at the end of the season? He does this year after year and this year all the more impressive. Playing freshmen, missing key starters for half the season, no experience collectively, rebounding from a potentially devastating game against Duke and more I haven’t even thought about. Why is he the Rodney Dangerfield of the BiG? Did anyone really think we were going to march thru the season with a new team of very young players who had never played together. More impressed than ever Brad. Bravo.
Big crowd came out against the Hawkeyes, and the Illini blew them out of the water. I still thought Michigan would cover, but that second half was something else. Let's give credit where it's due. After the Duke game, the fear was losing our last 3.
How about winning the last 3???!!!!
The team is showing some serious heart!!
Your friend is correct: Furst is good, but not much.I was watching with a Purdue fan (I know, I know :and he said before the opening tip that Furst is "not much"
Couldn't believe the charge called on DGL early on.Painter seems to be on track to be the next Izzo with all that whining. I don’t recall an egregious Loyer flop resulting in a foul, only the turrible call on KJ blocking the shot. Heck of a dagger by KJ, I wish he would have pulled out one of Smiths celebrations.
"That should be me out there, not the young man from Evansville."
I am gladly eating crow after believing the team had packed it in after the Duke game. Kudos to the players and staff for continuing to work and close the season strong! It's not always pretty, but any time you win 12 games in the B10 and 20 for the season that is a great accomplishment. I've watched many seasons where we didn't win anywhere close to that many. Some on here think he never has them playing good ball….ever
Smith.Couldn't believe the charge called on DGL early on.
Whatta flop by whomever the PU guy was.
That's the key: they did not fold! With a great attitude, this team has proven they could be in just about every damn game! Will Riley was fantastic tonight. His steal from Kaufman-Renn with :30 left was a gigantic play.
Tre White…Not much else needs to be said.
Another great game from him.
I thought we were screwed when we went down 5 with 3:00 left after all those turnovers. But the team played strong and was awesome down the stretch.
This game meant a lot as my former company’s CEO went to Purdue. He laid me off after 26 years. So I can firmly say F-U to JM!!! Thanks for that Illini, I needed the catharsis.
Purdue played Tuesday, and ran up and down the floor all night scoring over a 100. I think they faded the last three minutes. Good scheduling by Brad to have the week off. Again, strategeryIt seemed Smith really missed some clean looks at 3s the last 6 minutes besides the one from the top.of the key. I loved seeing him miss. No more sleepy time Smith lol I hope you think about those misses and have nightmares all night about going 2 of 9 missing clean looks.
