KJ has been taking and making that step-back 3 all season. What's not to like?
On that particular three after he made his step back move he was so open he was able to go straight up when he shot it. That's the type I would rather see him take vs the ones where he is strongly contested and fading away, even though he has made several of those this year.

Just a great, great win. And the SFC supercharged and deafening. This is what it's all about--and Will and Tre have become consistent dangerous weapons.

All the comments on the cbs page saying the technical for hanging in the rim wasn’t deserved are hilarious. I’ve seen one for much less. They claim he was looking to see if the defender was under him. He could have done so without sticking his elbow in the rim.

Me this morning after a WONDERFUL night's sleep. And then waking up knowing that all the doubters were having to eat their crow, without any condiments. Numerous times in the second half doubt started to creep in I that we could come back all the way, but we got stops when we needed them, and we got buckets when we needed them. Onwards and Upwards! I L L !

Yeah after TKR's 29th point, it finally occurred to Brad that maybe we should start doubling him. But hey, better late than never!
I honestly saw that one coming- we just didn’t have anyone that matches up with him with Morez out. Tomi is too slow and everyone else is too small- I’m a little surprised we didn’t try Will on him with Tomi playing the weak side help once he picked up his dribble- but it was predictable he would have a big night.

I agree with you a double or some rake down support from the guards (like Will did one time late) would have been in order

That legit felt like we were regressing back to the norm and then we weren't. Tre White needs to be retained. Period.
I said it in the pregame he need to suffocate Loyer which he did. His defense won us the game last night.

I want to give credit where it's due ... Would have been SO EASY to quit and pack it up after getting absolutely obliterated against Duke ...

This team came together ... We are seeing the best version of Tre White (what I like to call summer Tre) and the best version of Ben tonight ...

Get Morez back in the fold ... We will be cooking with gas ...

My one negative tonight ... The defense ... Hamer has GOT TO GO ... And that is all I will say about that ... Do not want that one negative to outweigh all the positive tonight ...

Not exactly sure who the guys were sitting behind me last night but they are obviously Loyalty members as they were on Hamers !!! all night about his terrible defense. Was pretty funny actually and had 4 Purdonts in front of me that bitched about every foul called on them. Guess all of us fans of CBB are the same.

Not 100% on the numbers but our 3s went like this.

1st Half
3/3
0/11
1/1
2nd Half
1/8
6/7

That big run they made was during our 0/11 streak in the 1st Half. It drives me crazy, especially when our cuts are so good getting to the basket. It was a great win, made the plays when we had to. I was losing hope when we went down 5 late, but we proved that we could play tough late.
Huge win from a confidence/momentum standpoint- we lost almost every game like that this year against an equal opponent, showing the toughness to win down the stretch is coming at the perfect time

Your analysis is spot on- we again settled for way too many threes when our game of penetrate and cut was so effective- when we fall in love with the three were just not a good team. We almost need condition therapy or something at this point- if you take an off the dribble three when you have a lane to the basket you get a shock. We are so good when we penetrate and get a layup, hit a cutter or pass out for a wide open three- just do that 80% of the time and we are very very tough to beat

We’ve figured out the formula for success we just seem to lose it in the middle of games way too often

Will Riley.. he has these jab fakes, and head fakes, and his cross over covers so much ground. The way he changes direction and get the defender moving is so impressive.

TSJ had that quick crossover in transition where he’s change directions on the spot and get the defender turned, but it all happened “in a phone booth”, but Will gets them moving 5-10 feet each way and he’s gotten good at just crossing and going the other way when he senses the help defender or getting rid of the ball. It’s been good. 👏

I’m not sure we will be getting back version of Morez that we had a few weeks ago.
I assume he won’t be immediately reinserted in the staring lineup. Strength & conditioning will definitely be impacted by the time on the shelf. Running in the pool isn’t the same as batting on the hardwood.
Its not like he had mono too.. he broke is off hand wrist., he hasn't been lying in bed for 4 weeks just not scrimmaging. You can bet the farm he has been running, lifting with his other hand and just needs to work on the injured wrist. He will be fine once it gets smacked hard a couple of times.

Hamer or not...the defense stops at end the game enabled that win.

The crowd was great on TV. Anyone at the game how was it in person?
It was awesome, I’d say best of the season. (I only missed Chicago State this year, assuming that wouldn’t have topped this game.) Everyone was on their feet a good portion of the second half and loud. I don’t know if you saw it on TV, but I loved seeing Tomi bounce his 7’1” self out to congratulate the team right at the buzzer. He literally bounced with joy, reflecting the mood in SFC.

For everyone lamenting drop coverage, this game was a clinic on why teams run it. Purdue has a 1-2 combo perfectly made to destroy drop coverage, they took all the shots they wanted Vs our drop all night, but they still didn’t make enough of them to win.

Yes it certainly gives the option for a guy to go nuclear, and I’m not saying coaches shouldn’t adjust, but every defensive scheme has to be willing to give up something because players are too good and you can’t stop everything.

On the flip side, Purdue was very willing to help off Tre White tonight. To his credit, he burned them.
