For all the criticism he’s received the past few months, I present to you in all his glory: Squirt Gun Hamer.

Just want to make an appreciation observation. Having had the opportunity to go to the BTT, I was struck by how many family members of the players were in attendance. I know that our guys now make over-the-table money and all, but these are regular people making regular money who are traveling all over the country to support their kids. It’s part of why college hoops is so much better than NBA. We’ve had plenty of commentary on over-zealous moms and such on here… but let’s raise a glass to the dads, moms, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins that represent the orange and blue in the stands.
Totally... and I thought I read somewhere that the Domasks were hanging with the Dainjas or something. Whether it's true or not, I imagine them having fun together, same as families do in youth sports, high school sports, etc.

And it's why people like Pitino and anyone else who declines invites to "lesser" tournaments are so selfish.

Yes ... All of this ...

I don't think Domasks have missed a game ... TJ's Mom rarely ever misses a game ... Goode's are always at the games ... Shoot the Goode's even come for Volleyball games ...

We have such a great group of young men ... And I think everyone knows that most great young men come from great families and that is definitely the case with our group ...

All day I couldn't stop thinking about the empty, drafty bar in upstate New York where I watched the 2006 Washington game anonymously with my brother and two cousins. How frustrating that entire game was. How the initially disinterested tools at the adjacent table cheered for Washington simply because I was cheering for the Illini. Seems like yesterday. An eye-blink. My daughter was 23 months old. In three weeks she'll turn 20.

I sat and watched the game tonight at a different bar in a different state. A dear Illini brother by my side and bartenders who know us well through the recent seasons of football and basketball we've enjoyed there. I savored every moment. The residual burden of the past fell away as I basked in how special our guys are and how we're finally over the hump and back where we belong. Thanks to Josh for his vision. Thanks to BU for seven years of unceasing toil, experimentation, iteration, and refinement to produce in our young men and the program what we enjoyed this evening.

I tell my daughter that she's young and doesn't yet realize how arduous and rare it is to build something great, and how quickly it will crumble through inattention and inability. She'll understand someday. All of you, however, know this in your hearts. Because we've all been there together for too many seasons. Which makes where we're heading all the sweeter.

We love no other. :illinois:

Shannon playing like the national player of the year and Domask doing his thing with Hawkins completing the trifecta. With Dainja dancing and Luke sniping and Guerrier being a force in the paint again we are a force to be reckoned with. Still with everything we have going for us I think it could come down to Ty or Harmon having a big game that gets us to the promised land. They are both overdue, especially Harmon.

Won by 26 and it wasn’t even that close.
What was impressive was that Illini should've won by 26, and they did! How did this Duquesne team beat BYU, who beat Iowa State by double digits in Utah. I know it doesn't mean anything now, but an interesting tidbit.
