Amazing game by MD who is likely the most unathletic, slow footed, slowest Illini to ever perform in the uniform...and maybe the smartest and most offensively skilled. That fadeaway jumper is extremely difficult to perfect, as he did tonight, against B1G defenders. Just think about it...how many others in college basketball use it so much and make that shot even close to his efficiency? My hat goes off with a deep bow to a terrific player.
There must have been contact on at least 18 of the 21 shots that Domask took. Not sure how to officiate those but there were certainly many fouls that could have been called on Marcus or on his defender. One time Wahl literally grabbed and held him for three seconds and Marcus still made the bucket, but no foul.

I can't remember, but sometime in the final minutes when Domask spun and went with his left, the showed a replay several times, Wahl grabbed him with each hand and fouled the crap outta him...especially with the way they called some of the other ticky tack crap.

Illini2010-11

Not a snowball's chance at #2, but if they can win the next 2, then pick off 2 in the BTT.....maybe a 3.

You just don't drop teams who are winning because we're winning too.
If Illini beat Purdue and then win at Iowa, and make it to BTT final, that would be a lock for 3 seed at worst. It would mean the Illini would have likely won close to 5 straight Quad 1 games to the final. Some teams ahead of Illini right now will likely stumble a bit, and 26-8 is easily a 3 seed.

is pondering the unsolved conundrum, if only there were a tall, frosty, cool, delicious magic elixir that could help me forget, if only for a few hours, the unbearable pain of a fourth home court loss to the wonderful Illini, ironically led by a homegrown member of my own burrow.
