I care less about the BTT Title. We got that last year. I'd like to see us do well, but I'd also be okay if we bowed out early and got to rest our legs for the NCAA tourney.
I agree but the problem is if that happens we are a 5 seed in the tourney that matters. If we were to beat Michigan then tOSU and even lose to Purdue in the BTT we are probably a 3 in the big dance.

So the question is, do we want a share (4 way) of a BIG regular season championship or an easier path to more q1 wins and really playing for March. If we end in a 4 way tie we are the 4 seed looking at Rutgers then Purdue. Probably controversial, but maybe we want Wisconsin to beat Purdue so we would stay away from Purdue until the final game (which is a meaningless game)?
I always want to be the regular season champs although a four way tie ( and a poor record against the top teams) isn't the ideal way

I feel like that might put the right kind of chip on our shoulder. We seem to play better when we think of ourselves as underdogs. I'd be okay carrying that into March Madness

Exactly what I was complaining about…absolutely BS…was Heidi starting? (If you get that reference you are an old man)

That was satisfying... not sure why plummer didn't get more minutes ind 2d half. Good team effort.

Plummer 1st half and Kofi 2d half can work in most games.

While watching this game, I came to the conclusion that the Illini’s struggles with letting teams back into the games is defense. I don’t know what the metrics say or don’t say, but they’re just not as good defensively as they were last year — overall as well as generating O from the D (though they got a couple of fast breaks today). They have some incredible offensive runs like they did in the first half and to a lesser degree early in second half, but didn’t get enough stops to really put other team in a huge deficit. Then when they hit a bump of their own on offense, the D can’t stop a team from coming back. As great as Plummer is on offense, he’s almost as bad on D. And while Curbelo is great off the ball with his hands, he is no where near as good with his straight up D. I think the Illini really miss Miller and Ayo’s overall D and their size. Illini are still good enough to win plenty of games, I just don’t expect too many easy victories the rest of the way.

Having said all that, great win. Plummer in first half, Kofi in second half and Trent closing things out was fun to watch. And it seemed like everyone got into the action in some way. Bring on the next opponent.

I do too but with uneven schedules change regular season championships does not mean you are the best team like in years past

We only played Neb PSU MSU O$U Minn and Wisky once. Not sure if I missed anyone

I think if we would have played Wisky twice and PU once we would had one more win

We are a good team and it is nice complaining about this than worrying about making the tournament

I LOVE Plummer and what he did in the first half offensively was truly spectacular, but my guy was having a rough go of it defensively. In the second half, he was a liability and we needed someone to clamp down defensively. Notice BU cited Belo's defense in the post-game press conference.
