Illinois 93, Wisconsin 87 - Big Ten Tournament Champions

Thie was a total team effort. TJS and Marcus lead the way but Hawkins, Quincy, Ty and Dain all chipped in offensively. The defense once again came to life down the stretch. TJ and Hawkins slowed down Storr and Hepburn while Quincy, Ty and Goode held down the rest. These guys are locked in right now and I hope they can keep it up but I do want to ask one thing-Stop giving me a heart attack. Can we just win an easy one once? I am so happy with what I saw in Dain this week, we really needed him to step up and he did BIG TIME. I can see them getting to elite 8 and who knows maybe take down UConn. Also our next star Dra did a good job today.

Honest question: is Domask able to bring his game to the NBA?
No. Below the rim player, mediocre shooter, weak defender.

The NBA is a very specific and somewhat quirky brand of basketball, in which Domask's tremendous feel and timing in a crowd of bodies is pretty much irrelevant.

Which is to say, it's not always a question of not being good enough, it's a question of being good at the right things and Domask isn't.

He was awesome today.

I lost my mom suddenly on Thursday. She was a huge Illini and Cub fan. I told my family that she would propel the Illini to the Big Ten tourney win. God bless the Illini. Thank you for bringing me joy during a difficult time :)
I am so sorry for your loss! You and fam are in my thoughts and prayers. Glad Illinois could play a little part in cheering you up for a few hours each day.

ILL my friend

Some on this board have questioned why Goode is out there at certain times. The above is an example of why. He thinks like a coach on the floor and he brings a down-and-dirty gritty energy to do some of the unnoticed things. (Coach has always appreciated that about him). Goode will be a coach himself somewhere at some point in the future if he wants to be.

This fine Illini core group of guys has one key guy from our dear neighboring state of Indiana and one key guy from our dear neighboring State of Wisconsin and one megastar from our dear Lincoln Park High School in Chicago. (Just as a reminder... this Chicago Illini superstar at one point had NO Division I offers in his younger playing life. Think anyone will notice him now?)

Not every guy can turn into a Shannon-level talent. But there are hundreds if not thousands of guys who could greatly develop their games like Junior has if things had turned out in a slightly different way for them. The amount of ball talent in this Nation (and World) is truly staggering. We always only see the tip of the iceberg of the ball talent in this World. Gyms and blacktops everywhere always have some.

And anyone can be a Goode in the sense of bringing his level of energy and willingness to get dirty on the floor and do what it takes to win. You just have to want to and be willing to pay the price.
Agree with everything you've said....but I thought Goode was on the floor at the end because he can shoot and make FT's ......you noticed DD and QG were cheering on the sideline
