Could we try and schedule a game now in between psu and Iowa?

they won't they are also not going to be ready cover wise. Will we schedule a conference or non conf team is the question

Underwood said there is one non conference game they could schedule-so someone is available

God, it would be a nightmare trying to reschedule this stuff. Why wouldn't there just be a successful lobby to move everything back about two weeks, including the conference tournaments, to get all cancelled games in and just have the NCAA Tournament closer to April? I mean, hell, you might even be able to have a limited number of fans who can show vaccination proof (or a negative test or something) attend by that point!

It would be a shame not to make up these games.

I was thinking the same thing. It would be an awfully good time to pop a cupcake in there. Definitely have to get those young guys more stress free PT to tune up the engine a bit. Hopefully BU does that.

Agreed. Have to think we put in a cupcake as well. Get multiple guys some playing time and get ready for Iowa at hopefully 11-5 (6-3) with a huge oppurtunity to get right back in the title race

A perfect cupcake would be DePaul, they’ve played only a handful of games, could use the reps, and certainly qualify as a cupcake

MSU has canceled a weeks worth of games already, Izzo’s son and a freshman roommate first had it, perhaps others have now tested positive, that’s a long period of cancellations if only the first two have tested positive.

Problem with a “cup cake” is what testing standard and control do they have over their programs?
For example I live in Naples Florida (FGCU) they have already had to post pone twice in both women’s and men’s basketball. My wife of a ARNP at their healthcare facility. The athletes are only required to test 2 times per week. Money is an issue for a school like FGCU.
Playing a team from “a lesser” conference could just lead to our own players testing positive?
It really is a mess at this point.

I know this could be brutal/heresy....but we could conceivably go to Iowa City on Sunday 24th...making for back to back Iowa games. They play Indiana at home on Thursday.

I get playing a cupcake to get a sure W, but if BU is struggling with guys who can’t get up for a game, I’m not sure that’s the vibe he would be looking for.

I think he's struggling getting guys in games, playing meaningful, yet stress free minutes. I'm all about guys learning on the fly, but the amount of weight that Miller and Curbelo are being asked to carry, without any meaningful preconference season....it's part of where our issues lie. We're not trotting 7 upperclassmen out there night in and night out. Three Freshmen are getting significant time on a team playing a very, very difficult schedule. Curbelo's turnovers are magnified times 10, as are Miller's missed shots. This has been a common theme with a lot of teams leaning on Freshmen.

I would think BU would welcome a "get healthy" game before the second half of the conference schedule gets ramped up.

We look like we’re bored on the court when we’re playing anybody who isn’t top 10 already, idk if playing a cupcake helps that urgency.

I'd really be worried about LOSING to a " cupcake " the way we have been performing lately....

This could be a blessing...or a curse. If we schedule a team that works more as a scrimmage, we could straighten some things out. The down side is that if we played that MSU game and won, it might have been just the mojo we need to get going.

After tonights game we are not scheduled to play again (Sat.game being postponed) until Jan. 29....that's too long....agree we need to see if a conference game can be moved up or find a non-con to fill in the 10 layoff

We only play Iowa once this year and after tonight, they are our next scheduled game. How does Iowa x 2 sound to everyone? Play back to backs with them, surely they've had to miss a game along the way and need to fill schedule!
