Our crowded QB room is gonna be less crowded soon. Then, how many of those guys have a legit chance at actually being good? Williams is a huge question mark. Great runner, but he's not going to succeed with a 50% completion rate. Heard he's taken more snaps at WR lately. Sitkowsky is all about next year ('22). Gotta have a legit option to Williams. Maybe Spann will be ready, but he's a big question mark too.
I have to think the coaching staff has already approached Williams and told him that his path to playing professionally is probably not at QB. Tough conversation, especially since he came here specifically because of the opportunity to play QB. I think it’s the best thing for him and the team.

This addition + Leary makes it rather apparent that BB & Petersen are looking for big, strong-armed pocket passers rather than dual threat guys, and I expect the dual threat QBs lower on our depth chart hear that message loud and clear.

Go get Jameson Williams. With this new transfer from Rutgers, I can see I Williams and Taylor transferring out . I think there is a place for both Taylor and I williams if they are interested in trying a new position. I Williams would be great receiver and may be his only path to the NFL. I hope he sees that.

Why ? Our QB room is super crowded and I don't think he is better than Williams. Unless he is transferring or switching positions. The same has to be said about Coran Taylor as well, who I think should be a WR.
Because Williams isn’t a QB

Coran is not fast enough for WR (prove me wrong kid), IMO and we have depth already at TE.
I'm no insider, but these things have a way of working themselves out.
I liked it when we played Peters and Williams at the same time.
Keep them both happy hopefully and run more trick plays for gosh sakes.

When we played Rutgers and Sitkowski was a freshman I wasn’t impressed. Like other posters have said. He is for 22. With Spann and Collier coming in it will be to crowded. I also agree that IW still will make a good web.

It's very early, but in-state recruiting is *finally* heading in a positive direction. Love it. Hopefully, the JCA RB, Anderson, commits soon.

As to Boyer, he was a legit 6' 6" in the summer of 2019, so I don't doubt that he's 6' 7" now. Obviously, a developmental recruit. It'll be interesting to see if he ends up as an OL.

Sitkowski is interesting. Has the size/strength/tools, but that freshman year was dreadful and then he lost his starting spot. They clearly like his tools and it's no secret now what they want at QB. Sitkowski is like a poor man's Brandon Peters. See how he develops behind Peters for a year in a system that fits him, and then it seems like the idea is 1 year of Peters, 2 of Sitkowski, then 2-3 of Leary. I think Williams still has a chance at QB, but the guys below him on the depth chart are basically gone, or never going to see the field, with the exception of maybe Spann since he's only a freshman.

I love the approach of this staff with recruiting. They have very clear targets and push hard for them. They may not have the offers or ranking, but the staff sure identifies guys they want and closes as hard as they can. Quite literally the opposite of the previous staff's slow-play method. Hopefully they can sprinkle in some higher end guys, but one thing is for certain, they have a plan and are landing the guys they really want.

IW can be the change of pace player top teams have- run, throw, come from all over the field and cause havoc. If he’s great and the next Heisman, he’ll play QB. If he’s not, someone else will get a shot. We’ll never be a good team until guys like him are ready to go out and compete for playing time.

Kinda seems like there might be another commitment today. Just based on timing of tweets and such.

We will get some defensive guys to commit eventually, right?! I feel decent about our inside LBs, but need some more edge athletes and all of the DBs.
