Best college announcer period. Gave the game a little extra flavor only other left doing that is good our own Sox announcer the Hawkaroo.;):thumb::chief:
I assume/hope you are kidding, otherwise that is a huge insult to Keith Jackson.

My idea of the best. Now get off my lawn,

Trevion Armstrong, 3* WR/TE out of VA, is leaning towards the Illini.

Source on that? I hope you're right, but 247 seems to think it's all VT http://247sports.com/Player/Trevion-Armstrong-30549

He would be one of our highest rated recruits though, so it would be a huge get.

EDIT: VT hasn't even offered him yet, but 247 has them as the heavy favorites. Hopefully that turns him off and he comes to us, one of us his best offers.

Lindsey Nelson was great. Unfortunately, Booby Knight sullied the plaid sportcoat look forever. No wonder Robert Hall Village went out of business.

The source was him tweeting "Leaning towards Illinois, plan on committing somewhere this season"

No I am not kidding Jackson was from another era and all of fame announcer. Now watch the MLB Network they love the Hawk and the Hawkisms. Does it get old once in awhile yes, but Jackson did maybe 14 games a season. Hawk some years even out here 20 and I don't get the Sox even half a season. Air Jackson 20 30 times a year, year after year. He would get stale as well.

I want to say he's pretty tight with Bellamy. Not a guy that's out of the question, but a significant local offer or two could make it a lot tougher.

I like your optimism Cali, but I don't think there's much hope for the DB's on your list & we're recruiting Mueller as an OL. Some defensive players to add to your list that I know we've been in close contact with:

DL K. McLaurin TX
DL E. Camara juco
LB T. Walton MI
DB A. Whitner juco
DB D. Malone FL
DB D Hylton FL
DB C. Williams TX

Have you evaluated any?

Nation the only guy I could not find tape on was Malone. So I will give a short dirty version of what I saw and their grades. To follow

I watched Ken Ruffs tape as well as Walton. The interesting thing to me about them is each has something he other guy needs.
Ruff is much more physical than Walton while Walton sees the play much faster and is faster.
Ruff built for the inside 6'1 231 Is vvg has all the physical attributes in every category actually vvg-ex power and strength. When puts hand on the ground and just has to attack he shows what he can be. He received a low 3* 5.55. He is a guy that can contribute but he needs work in the film room as well with position coach.
Walton 6'2 224 needs to live in the weight room first year. While he sees the play quickly when he gets there he has to hold and wait for help to often, he lacks a lil pop. He is sideline to sideline fast could play outside. He is very good in the open field, but gets hung up on blocks a lil to much.
Same grade as Ruff for Walton

I want ths post it is a second attempt at writing on these kids

Cornerbacks Hylton Fl and C Williams Tx practically the same as listed 6' and just over 170. Both showing vvg-ex sp and vvg cover skills including flipping their hips. Not to mislead but both will need to continue develop that skill. Williams is the more physical of the pair. He is a big hitter, while Hylton is a willing tackler.
Williams has nice body control , vert, and vvg instincts but does need to improve on his angles occasionally. Long arm and vv thin, yet while muscle jump balls with interceptions or pass break ups. He is a high 3* 5.7 vvg-ex sp/ vvg qu, burst, st, power.
Hylton picks up his man very well and stays on his shoulder has vvg hands he is a lil nasty, nice surprise, vvg- ex sp/ vvg qu, burst, st, and power. mid high 3* 5.65.
Both surprised with their toughness .
Each needs 15 -20 pounds. Williams might become fs if he keeps his speed an puts on the weight.

Ladaruis Jackson Juco Ms 6'4 243 Leo
Good sized just vvg sp, st, qu, power, st/ vvg-vg burst. Agg seems to lack that exceptional gear. Vvg-vg pass rusher/ vvg in pursuit. For pass rush needs to sink inside shoulder more to cut inside on pass rush. Also needs help on hand placement.
BB it of a disappointment. 3* 5.6 our last two leo's were better.

Ken McLaurin Tx 6'3 280 Needs work on hand placement and punch through he hips. VVg, sp, power,qu, st, burst/. Good eye discipline sees the play/ Still able to disengage and be effective against single and double teams./ Vv agg, phys and good get off./ Adjusts well to mobile qb/ equally good against run and pass.
3* 5.65:huh:
Elijah Camara juco 6'4 280 VVg sp, qu, st,
power/ vvg-vg burst. Gets thru the garbage at the line quickly and cleanly lil contact. Keeps grinding, finishes play/solid against run and pass. If he reaches 305-310 he might be nt. Needs work on hand placement/ May miss having enough burst for 3tech or sde at that size.
3* 5.55:eek:

thanks for your input Cali
I like the potential of each of these DL's & our chances at this point:illinois:
I think they're each under-recruited right now. It'll be interesting to see how much more Camara progresses this season, since he is new to the position

Few more to post about
Nt Ladarruis Gallion juco 6'4 320-340 . I t was his hs tape that I watched. Lil heavy footed for a 3tech so simply a nt candidate. For a nt, vvg sp, st, power, qu and burst. Active around the line, can penetrate for rush. Actually pretty good at as the tape went on. Tuff at the line showing vvgood strength doing his job
3* 5.6 based on high school tape

#970
Trevion Armstrong Va 6'2 220 h-back
Needs work on his cuts very rounded and slowed to the point it looks a little lazy sometimes. Vvg sp when he puts in the effort. Vvg st, power qu, burst for h-back were he is best suited. Nice hands, midsized mid talent.
3* 5.5

Finally watched Gavin Cupp's film. He is a bad man with a bad disposition/attitude. just filthy. VV aggressive, physical, loves finishing opponents-pancakes. Just what you want from an o-lineman. Very nice knee bend, hands, hip thrust and feet. He has very nice tech for a hs kid and it will need improvement at the college level but he shows he know how to pick it up. Very nice weight distribution. Ex-vvg drive block displaying power/ vvg get off or burst. Ex-vvg st, power/ vvg sp,qu, burst.
4* 5.85. Yes I loved this guys tape because of the extra quality he can bring and help instill in others. He has connections to the school. He is now the numbre one get for the o-line. Land him Cerny and Wilmore and or Anchrum and it would mean two outstanding years in row for the o-line to Illinois,.:thumb::eek::chief:

I was actually convinced for a while that you only gave out 3* ratings. :D:illinois:
