Hadn't look at the 2016 class much yet. Unfortunately, doesn't look like a whole lot of DL recruits, which obviously has to be a focal point. Just going off history, gotta figure Josh King will head to one of the big boys. That pretty much leaves Naquon Jones and Thomas Schaffer as the only other top 20 DL recruits. Gonna have to look out of state for that position it looks like.

On the flip side, looks like quite a few OL on that list. Hopefully we can snag a couple of those.

Hahahaha Ooooo Dan gotta get started already!!!!

And here we thought Dan was slowing down by not starting the basketball post-game threads with 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter!

No rest for the weary.

So will Parchman be a two-way player for us?

Everyone top needs for 2016? And who might be the next commits?

we actually can afford to ignore QB in this next class if we want to. not saying we will, but we can afford to as we have Crouch, George and Fitz all with lots of eligibility ahead of them

We need to focus real hard on DL & OL and D in general.

lets see how it shapes up. Not a real strong instate class. we will be likely looking out of state for most of our needs

You can never afford to ignore the QB position. It's the most important position out there and the overwhelming majority of QBs don't pan out as you'd hoped. If you ignore it one year and guys like Crouch, George and Fitzgerald don't meet expectations you're screwed.

If Gabe and Dre can redshirt next year I'm thinking they keep busy with those recruiting skills that appeared to be very effective. The number of quality in-state recruits this year should break the ice on commits from the 2016 class.

Gabe maybe, Dre no way we need him and Vaughn for the upcoming season

You never want to ignore QB. You need to recruit one every single year. They set the tone of the class. Our QB in this class will either be frank or moore. I'm guessing moore since he really LOVES illinois and I believe he is deciding before frank.

I understand the sentiment, its one position you never take for granted. But we basically got two in this years class, George and Fitz, and we have Crouch ahead of them with 4 years of eligibility.

Of course you recruit the best and let the numbers game work itself out, as it always does (lets see what happens with O$U this year), but if we lost out on our #1 or #2 QB target, I would not be all that concerned.

For once, I would just love our recruiting to haul in a couple 4*'s on BOTH sides of the line and I would die for a super stud linebacker.

I do not put 100% faith in rankings but what were the rankings of the three qbs we have after Lunt and Bailey? George is a gray shirt, low 3 * maybe? Fitzgerald and Crouch mid to high three also?

In general, these are the type of guys you hope develop by their red shirt junior years to provide depth, possibly push for a starting job if no four star guys are there. If you can sign a four star, you do that, heck every year if you can.

Does anyone have the time to sacrifice to make the scholarship grid for football? Which players are walk-ons and which are on scholarship?

Found this article mentions some players with Illinois offers.

http://www.cincinnati.com/story/blo...ayers-with-early-scholarship-offers/22919015/

13. Peyton Ramsey, Elder: The 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback was the GCL South co-player of the year. He threw for 2,062 yards and 13 touchdowns. He rushed for 908 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was special mention all-state. He has offers from Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green and Miami University.

14. A'Shon Riggins, Hamilton: The defensive back has offers that include Illinois, Iowa, Miami University, Ohio University, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and Toledo. A standout basketball player, Riggins was first-team all-GMC this past football season. He visited Indiana this past weekend.

16. Jake Saunders, Loveland: The junior defensive lineman was first-team all-district and first-team all-ECC. He was special mention all-state. He has offers that include UC, Illinois, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh and Northwestern.

For those that don't open the article those are the top Cinci area players but the number is not their local ranking. Just alphabetical order.

I like Moore but I would prefer Frank from Oswego more. Am I alone on this?

Given what we saw with how this staff handled Aaron Bailey, I'd prefer Frank as well. I think Cubit knows how to use pro-style guys better than he does dual guys.

So you don't think he did a good job with Nathan?
