So you don't think he did a good job with Nathan?

Nathan was a senior. He had already developed by the time Cubit came here. He improved as a pocket passer, yes, but dealing with a senior QB in a new system is different than developing one entirely.

That said, Moore may be more of a passer than Aaron Bailey ever was, so it could work. I just think Frank or any other pro style QB is more up Cubit's alley.

any quarterback we get will be a pass first qb, but I don't think college football nowadays we can have a stature qb they all need to be able to scramble to extend play and or to make yards when needed, and even a bit of read option is always a good thing!

Considering the staff has recruited 2 pro style QBs in the last 2 classes, I'm going to assume that Cubit prefers those guys (even though O'toole showed that a qb run game opens up that offense so much more).

The problem was that Bailey was a single threat QB in our offense whose threat wasn't throwing the ball. Since Cubit likes to throw the ball quite a bit, this was obviously going to be an issue going forward.

As long as the dual threat QB is actually trusted to throw the ball, he could definitely work out for us. However, they have shown more of a preference for recruiting more pro-style QB's, so that might work against him.

Crouch ran the ball quite a bit in high school. ROT ran the ball quite a bit for us this past season.

One could argue that Cubit's offense works best when his QB is a threat to run, though obviously it all starts with a QB who can read defenses and throw accurately.

I think we will actually get Moran. I think he wants to come. That would make me very happy

Any recruits planning to commit soon? Or are we in a waiting game for a few months? And do we seriously have a shot with King?

Going by recent history we should have another commit or two within a month.

I'd guess slim to zero chance with King.

But he's a dual threat QB and your thesis was that Cubit doesn't handle them well. Bailey wasn't a dual threat so I don't think we can use him as evidence. Maybe he's just not very good. Why blame the staff.

Given what we saw with how this staff handled Aaron Bailey, I'd prefer Frank as well. I think Cubit knows how to use pro-style guys better than he does dual guys.

Bailey wasn't really a dual threat qb.
Nate and ROT were however.

What this class needs is another couple of vocal kids to commit, and then become recruiters themselves. We had that with Dre, Fitz, Pat Nelson and Gabe, and you cannot overestimate how much influence they had to the rest of this 2015 class.

Fair enough. I'm just hesitant is all.

Bryan Brokup - early commit to Nebraska

And remained committed through the coaching change.. Zero chance @him

I understand he is a Nebraska commit. But from my understanding he is not as high on Riley as good ol' Bo. I know it is unlikely for a Nebraska commit to flip to Illinois but that is why it is my dream class. I do not think Brokup ends up at Nebraska and I hope he chooses us.

Dream Class, based on a chance that the recruit would pick Illinois.

I have 2 TE's because I think Caleb Reams is going to the D line

TE: Nick Eubanks
OL: Sean Foster Not a huge fan, but could be in the mix
OL: Bryan Brokup - Doubt he flips unless for a bigger offer

OL: Nik Urban

DE: Josh King - No way
DE: Austin Galindo
