The mandatory Bridge program for marginal academic athletes has not been around for at least 20 years.

A little off topic but that Bridge experiment was largely considered a failure. Was there anyone in football or basketball that ever successfully finished the program and was admitted into the University?

Here is I what I want Santa to give this year.
COMMITMENTS from the following. First choice.
Lt/Rt Grayson Stover FL 6'6 293 just the steal of the team if we land him.

Second choice
LT Mike Williams Al
LG/RG Mckenzie Nworah Tx 6'4 305

First all high 3* or 4* in Simms case just based more on physical ability being harnassed. Next Skill postions.

Second choice
Te Matthew Gonzalez Oh
Wr Marlon Eugene Fl 6 190

Olb Colby Reeder De 6'3 220
SS/Olb Isaiah Simmons Ks 6'3 212

As always Santa would have to exceed the number of commits we can currently be allotted by a couple, three schollies.

Sutton to Iowa State? I hope that is because we are looking at better LB's:confused:

His recruiter was Golesh and we calmed on him after Walton. I really like him alot though. His teammate Hudson would have been the real stud though

I like Zarrian Holcombe and Dylan Soehner more than Blake Williams. I don't like Griffin Palmer that much. I want 2 of those 3 and pull a Crean on Palmer

Jacob that makes two of us on Palmer after double checking Palmer tied or the lowest grade I gave an Illini commit this year barely making a 3* grade. I would be a happy camper if we could replace him with Soehner as our in line te. But for me and for Big Cubes passing attack I think he is looking first at some that can be a receiver.
One thing scares me about Soehner in that his tape did not show him throwing a single block. So physical an tough to bring down with the ball in his hand, yet will he pick up the fundamentals to become a competent blocker. Worse if you put him at tackle he has to perform so much better as a blocker. Now if you guys or better have seen him block in games great in camps would help to lesser degree about how he blocks.

Joel Goodson

ties will be resolved
Made the long trek to Glen Ellyn today. Johnny Caspers is my bros next door neighbor & is home for Xmas. Caspers visited Coach Hetlet and Iowa's OL coach was there. He's recruiting Brodner. Anyways, quite a coincidence, as Stanford meets Iowa in the Rose Bowl next week.

The skinny is that we have a real shot with Brodner. He's seen how we utilized Ferg and that's a big plus (Brodner is an excellent receiver). Brodner's GF is a freshman at Illinois and her parents graduated from Illinois. He's seen what happened with Dude-K and realizes he has a similar opportunity.

One other tidbit. Caspers was thisclose to being an Illini. Stanford looked to be pulling his ride (after he committed) late. Shortly before signing day, his ride came through. Otherwise, he'd have been in O&B. Future NFL-er.

I think Palmer is weakest recruit we have had in the past classes. Similar in stature to Peter S. And Chris Jsmes

Don't get me excited. Brodner is a beast. I could see him being a lb with that speed and strength if he so chooses!

Brodner imo can play rb in the BIG 10, like you I was not overly impressed with Moran my grade was no where near a 4*.
Again like you I like Jackson he is short but I was really impressed with his tape, now he was a near 4* for me.

Simms was first team all metro for the St. Louis P-D. Moran and Palmer made second team.

I think we will be in good shape for the next 4 years with Caleb Reams at TE!

I like him as well but we need more Tight Ends for 2017. Him, Echard, and Griffin Palmer are not enough. I would prefer another in this class for both to redshirt and then 2 in 2017, one Juco and one freshman to get class balance a bit better

IMO Simms was by far the best prospect inspite a slightly higher grade I gave Moran earlier.

I like Simms alot and based on my posting history I am not terribly high on Moran or will be terribly heartbroken if he commits to Syracuse. I like Singletary out of Florida more even if he is a 2 star recruit. His team and the competition they face is a lot higher than southern Illinois

Frankly it was so long ago when I saw Moran tape I can only agree because while I felt I wanted to know Singletary had more speed the impression left was much deeper for DS. I agree.
