#Illini are first to offer sleeper in-state OL Alex Palczewski. Why didn't he have an offer from anyone before?

[

Also according to Werners Twitter, he's now rated #1 OT in state .

This guy didn't have a profile a week ago, let alone even MAC offers. Now we're his only offer, but it really seems the coaching staff somehow found a great sleeper. Now get him committed.

If we get Thomas, we'd have possibly the most talented and fasted receiving corps in the B1G coming in with him, Smalling, and a healthy Dudek (knock on wood), plus an upperclassman Turner. That would have to open some top-notch QB's eyes, wouldn't it? Not to mention the chance to work under some top-level coaches.

Ohio State would like to have a word with you. We could get to having the best WR's in the B1G West. Ohio State has the #3 and #6 WR and is considered a player for #1 WR who is from Michigan. Ohio State will end up with the best recruiting class in history. They are turning away 4 star top 300 recruits (LB Simmons from Ann Arbor Highline) to take other higher rated LB recruits. Their worst recruit minus the #1 kicker in the class is a 4 star #229 player & DT from Cincinnati. Lovie is getting us in a high level discussion but OSU is like to get 14 or 15 of the top 60 players in the country. Amer Riep is a player people are starting to circle back to because OSU may look for someone better and he is the #125 recruit in the country and from Ohio. What they are putting together is stupid. Lovie has a chance to recruit better than Zook but we are a bit away from touching OSU in any category

If Meyer stacks a few more classes like this one, maybe OSU will get promoted (to the NFL). But, seriously, their class is absolutely sick.

Coran Taylor (QB 2018) Junior year highlights:

Am I missing something? Is this kid not a perfect fit for McGee's offense? No offers and he's right in our back yard.

really had his coming out party during the playoff run. But yes, kid is a stud. Clean up that throwing mechanic a little, and you've got a Terrell Pryor. If he's not signed up by next august, it's a major miss.

No doubt there is interest there, but Chalmers is right, we already have a lot of time and effort into the recruitment of Patterson, including a visit this week from Lovie.

Always recruit a winner first. I don't care what kind of upsize a kid may have in the skill department however having a winning mentality is difficult to teach.

Tom Brady went 11-9 as a high school starter..........

That's why I said "possibly". If they don't get that #1 receiver, they'd have #3 and #6, but we'd have #7 plus Dudek who is proven and was BIG freshman of the year. If he can be healthy I'd put him up there with anyone. Those two guys plus either Smalling, Green, Roberson, or a senior Malik Turner I'd say would give us a group of starting receivers at least comparable to anyone else out there. Again, IF Dudek can regain his pre-injury form. No question the rest of their recruiting class is going to be head and shoulders above anyone else's. I only hope we can come close to their level under Lovie a few years down the road once we have some proven success on the field.

Yeah, it's fairly obvious that the staff has made Patterson the number 1 priority and he's got a number of high major offers. However, we've also offered Kaleb Eleby and John Holcombe (Zarrian Holcombe's brother). I'm just curious as to why we haven't extended one to Taylor as well?

I know they are focused on 2017 right now but we waited a bit too long with Kendrick Green. I get the feeling that Taylor could be getting a lot of offers soon and it would be nice to get in early on him.

Coran is the real deal. The kid has speed, and a very good arm. His speed is somethinng special. I've seen him play a few times against talented opponets and the kid would be a steal

Hate to to say this but Cam Thomas speed is special Taylors is good or very good. Patterson is good tops and he is little stiff. I prefer Taylor over Patterson who make me think of the shelling Juice got got here. Taylor has more burst and and quick.

Kevin Wilson out at Indiana...could mean some things as far as recruiting:

Juan Harris who has committed to Iowa, Wisconsin, and currently Indiana probably will now look around (again).

OT Tyler Knight chose Indiana over Illinois over the summer. He may reconsider; however, Illinois has moved on, doubt this happens.

LB Thomas Allen chose Indiana over Illinois in the summer as well. We have not gotten aggressive on any linebackers as of yet. Will we reach out?

Harris said he was staying committed to Indiana and he wanted the other coaches to stop bugging him. Those were his exact words.

we need to be going aft both get them here and let them fight it out, who ever doesn't win the starting spot can without a doubt play another spot. Patterson would make a hell of a middle linebacker or running back/TE, TAYLOR could play DB or WR without question

Lol...

1. It wouldn't be the first time he has decommited.

2. Indiana is firing their HEAD COACH for PLAYER ABUSE!!!

Not saying it is going to happen, but given the circumstances it is totally fair to say anything is possible at this point in time...especially with Juan Harris.
