Looks like we are in top 4 of DE Alec Jackson from Alabama. He has legit offers. Looks like other top 4 teams are Texas, USC, NC State. I think (not 100% sure) that he and and a teammate were on campus in the spring, but I could be wrong

Has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Cinny, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Ole Miss, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vandy.

Wasn't O O supposed to make his decision today? Or is it the 25th?

That sucks. Was he originally from Ohio? I wonder if there were some other issues as I'm sure playing time at a B1G school would be better than the MAC. Oh well, next up!

I always say i don't know much about football, but wasn't be just on campus a couple days ago? Do you have a kid on campus you're not going after?

It was after the visit they decided that. He needed weight to make him a TE and he lost a lot of speed and athleticism with it. Without the weight he would have just been an already slow wr.

I think that's what they are scared of with zarrian Holcombe hhat he wouldn't gain the weight needed and would HAFTA switch to we and he did switch....seen him get some first team reps too tho...so idk

We weren't Going after him anymore. Not a loss.

If there's been one take away for me so far from this staff's recruitment style it's that they aren't going to take kids just to take them. They want guys that are going to raise the talent level of the program. Here's hoping they can pull it off.

Looks like the rankings for Carney vary quite a bit. Rivals has him as a 4* and 24/7 has him as 3* and around #500 as a prospect.

Beggers can't be choosers. We can use him.

#500 in football equates to around #114 in the rankings in basketball, which isn't bad at all (Trent Frazier is around there in RSCI).

The rule of thumb I find useful is take the football ranking and divide by 4.4 (# of starters on a football team versus number of starters on a basketball team, or 22/5=4.4).

So yeah, a player ranked around 500 is very good for us in football recruiting, especially given our recent history and previously downtrodden state of our football program. Definitely hope we get Carney (and Green and O O)! :thumb:

Lovie's cooking with gas if he lands Oladipo, Green and Carney. Can't wait to see who else joins the beloved.
