We offer a relatively clear path to start and a great staff, so I imagine we should attract a good amount of interest. At the end of the day, kids want to play.
Whether the graduate QB from Louisville that has been mentioned or a JUCO All American QB ( is there another Tony Eason out there ?) , we need to have an experienced QB to give Chayce Crouch competition and for minimum to have experienced depth

Definitely. But according to people who would know, Jeff George Jr. very well may have passed Crouch in the pecking order. Either way, no way the staff is handing the job to one of those guys. There will be more competition.

Cant see Thomas ever being the starting QB here. I wouldnt be surprised one bit if he changed positions. Love his speed, but i dont think hes a very good QB.

Rumor is that his offer is non-committable.
What does that mean exactly? Is that like a revocable offer?
Like he has to wait to see what our top rb targets do. Even though some are already committed elsewhere.
I just don't think we are to the place yet where we should be doing this to kids if its the case. Why offer them then tell them you have to wait were not sure we want you all that bad yet

It just sucks that the kid went public on twitter only to get depantsed like that.
If we don't end up taking him, I hope he ends up at Cal, which is a great school and another Power Five opportunity and honestly probably a better fit for his type of player. From his film I definitely think he can play on this level. Reminds me a bit of Josh Ferguson with his phone booth athleticism.
Yeah cam is their guy....he's the number 2 qb in the state of Illinois....they got him early before anyonenelse could.....his team was awful but he did well still and impressed LOVIE and McGee at camp.....that's why they went after a 2018 qb instead........they expect a dual threat future guy to take over
Most qbs have committed to a school by now for 2017 except for a few pocket cats....which we don't want
he reminded me of a faster Rocky Harvey I do not mind us getting shorter backs if we keep getting these giants for the OL by the tie the D finds him he will be 5 yards down the field
Yup happens all the time...he could've been ready to commit to cal to be honest and they told him hold up.....I believe we wanted em....maybe they are still trying to wait for that Florida kid they wanted I'm totally fine with them taking 3 rbs two qbs....Vaughn could leave for the draft after his Jr YR and foster will be gone. .they don't expect to wait onndre brownnit clearly looks like

What makes you think Cam is their guy for sure? You are one of the only, if not the only, that keeps harping on this and I just don't get why. His HS team is awful and he did not do well as you keep stating. Thomas completed 52 of 145 passes for 575 yards and six touchdowns last season. He also rushed for 194 yards on 65 carries (2.98 average). Those are not good numbers my man. I am not saying that you are wrong but I don't get how those numbers and his size and skill set make him their man.
He evidently iimpressed them enough to get annoffer on the spot....Minnesota wanted em as well....he committed to nus as the number two qb in the state of Illinois....evidence hes way better than what has seen....they offered him and a 2018 and a 2019 guy...not two 2017 guys.....there you go...

Josua Maize (Deerfield) put out a top-6 a night or two ago that didn't include Illinois (but included a shout-out hoping they would offer him). Watching his video, I think he is worthwhile the offer. Not the most athletic end, but his tape shows his ability to shed blockers and get "skinny" to penetrate gaps.
