Wouldn't Singletary committing to Tulane give us a little more confidence with players we might like more? Maybe we backed off of him because we feel good with someone else (or multiple someones).

Singletary did not have an offer from Illinois.

I really enjoyed watching his 18+ minutes of highlights. I wonder if we are recruiting him as a WR as well? Looks like a guy who can play on either side of the ball. Good size, good hands and great speed:

It would be nice if he was visiting this weekend.

So is this Kendall Smith's DB spot and then he plays WR if we miss on Roberson (which sadly seems increasingly likely)?

My guess with Creamer being out that he is being recruited as a DB

I thought Roach was a replacement for Creamer, although Creamer may have never been a viable option.

As Second and Chalmers pointed out, I believe he could be a replacement for Roberson. We were also looking at Marchese who just committed to Iowa. That's just my interpretation from watching his film.

This is a lazy comparison but he reminded me of Steve Hull. He's a great athlete who could help us at a number of positions. I'm not sure what chance we have of flipping him if he's never visited here, however. Maybe he'll jump at the opportunity of playing in the B1G?

I think it'll go a lot like Hobbs - offer, visit shortly after, commit on visit. I'd be pretty surprised if we couldn't flip him

Can this kid throw? Would it be possible that we are offering as a QB/S?

He threw the ball a few times in the highlights I saw and there's a reason why he didn't throw the ball more often. He was almost exclusively a running QB for his team. That's not surprising as a lot of High Schools will put their best athlete at QB. It didn't look like he could make the throws that almost any FBS QB could make, however.

I think he's being recruited as a S/WR. I really like his potential as a WR.

I would guess he is being more recruited more as a DB, but I agree with the Hull comparison. He looks like a young man you get here and see just where he works out best.

Didn't watch the whole thing, thanks for the info. I saw where he was essentially playing a wildcat/single wing type QB for most of the offensive snaps.

We offered a MTSU DB (S?) commit, Reed Blankenship

This kid is an under the radar type. Fills the run in a hurry , hits with a purpose, and seems very good to me in pass coverage. I see he runs a 4.46. He will do well here IMO

Other big-time B1G programs have shown interest in #Illini commit Ra'Von Bonner https://t.co/3j6njNsqrD https://t.co/K05NF1Dwsz

Sounds like some top b1g schools offered him so he had to shut it all down.
