we're getting killed in Illinois which sucks
#illini the first power-five offer for Texas tight end Brayden Willis (@Bwillis_11)
I really hope we're not headed down the same path in St. Louis:

Unfortunately, this is a path that will plague the Illini until the FANS consistently pack Memorial Stadium every game, and establish a waiting list for tickets. There is simply no juice for playing in front of 28,000 fans at 11:00 am while Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota are playing in front of sold out stadiums every single week.
This is a cultural problem that JW needs to address at the grassroots level, and, for the short-term, I have some very attractive solutions for the DIA. Would love to help them put another 10,000 fannies in the stadium for the non-glamour games.

Surprise! Verdis Brown visiting #Illini today
Our attendance was 45,600 per game this year. We were 8th in the Big10 ahead of Minn btw. Our program has a long ways to go, but attendance isn't the primary factor. Wins will pack our stadium just like others.

Agree that wins will pack our stadium, but looking at the numbers it's depressing to see that even if Memorial Stadium was 100% full for every home game, we wouldn't move up the current list above #8.

Austin vs. Chambana?
I just moved from Austin, TX back to Illinois after 6 years of living there. I cannot fault this young man for his decision. Football is a religion down there and takes over the entire 1MM+ city every Saturday (especially when the team is doing well). It's hard for the Illinois of the world to compete against Texas head-to-head.
Also their facilities man. Insane.
Saw that 3* Oswego DT Noah Shannon decommitted from Minny yet hasn't received an offer from us, even though he has visited Chambana. I'm surprised we have not offered? I'm thinking he might be a good player to have… But that's just me.

This doesn't sound good.

Not sure how to post the tweet as a pic?
The dream of loading up on 4* StL players is dead. Too bad we weren't able to sell them on playing together here I don't recall a class with this many highly ranked players from StL
