I don't buy that one bit. We have a good shot at Eleby and Caldreth this year. Both are top 15 players in the state. We have a real good chance at the Trinity players. They will come out in 2019 and 2020, That's boyd's HS. A couple of them are highly rated.

Word is that Dwayne Lawson has another few classes to take this summer before he could even be considered academically eligible. Also hearing he has character issues, but McGee likes him. I'm being told it's looking less & less likely he'll ever suit up for us.

I was told that the staff is gaining confidence in getting him. Could just be a matter of time.

I love that the staff is in early on all of the Trinity players. We'll hope that makes an impact, but everyone will be offering those top 3 guys (Williams, Washington, Cooper) I could definitely see us grab a couple of their teammates:illinois:

Just got off the phone with new #Illini commit Antwain Walker. He said several SEC and Big Ten programs were calling him the last few days.

So like, are our guys just that good at player evaluations that we are getting in on recruits ahead of the pack? Or are we getting desperate for commits?

He has great size and a solid frame. However, looking at his film it seems like he just beats up on the smaller guys he is playing. Needs a lot of work on his get off and footwork in general. Here is his hudl page for those who want to watch some highlights:

I see the point you guys are making. But I don't think it stings. He was never considering us. The one that stung bad to me was Ford. I thought we had a great chance to get him. Then he committed to Arkansas. Now he has re-opened his recruiting. But unless we sign some 4 and 5 star players out of nowhere or win 10 games this year. I don't think he will consider us. That stings to me. Because neither of those will probably be happening this year.
