So Ill
Fleck is crushing it at Minny.

12 Top 1000 recruits committed (roughly equivalent to top 100 recruits in basketball) and several more listed at "Warm" on their targets list: http://minnesota.247sports.com/Season/2018-Football/Targets

I'm going to assume Lovie will close strong like he did last year, but I'm concerned he's going to have a really rough time closing recruits late if the team can't win at least 5-6 games and look much better doing it (which will be tough given the QB situation and defensive losses).

Bryce Paup Minny's D line coach was at Lutheran North in St. Louis today.

Source: I talked to him. He seemed cool.

The only thing I can say about Fleck is that I hope he doesn't stay long at Minnie. Maybe the Bears...

If you ever tried to listen to one of his diatribes online, you will know his motor-mouth routine wouldn't last very long in the NFL. Or his antics on the field either.

Our lonely eyes turn to you Ayodele........

If the St. Louis kids don't break our way (Brown is gone) then we're in a lot of trouble.

Rowing the boat right over us.

Give me a freaking break. We are not anything when it is a kid we are not interested in taking . So the comment is meaningless
Like most all here I am concerned about the recruiting class this year, but lets not throw out the baby with the bath water.:tsk:

I'm sorry. I really don't see the appeal of fleck. His additude would get old real fast. I was sick of him after watching 1 minute of the Minnesota YouTube video showing the athletes area or w/e that's called.

We didn't offer either of the kids they got I don't think. Lovie and staff are looking for a certain type kid as they said not looking at the stars

Ben Bryant

This isn't someone who we'd have any interest in pursuing but I'm amazed that Ben Bryant had his scholarship offer pulled by Wisconsin:

I don't have a Twitter account but just from following some Illinois recruits this doesn't seem to be all that uncommon? I saw Kendrick Green posting about how he had received offers from Notre Dame and Arkansas after committing to Illinois. I'm puzzled as to what this kid did wrong?

They snagged another QB and found an excuse to dump him.

That was my take as well. I wonder if that will come back to hurt them in recruiting at all. Not so much the dumping, but the how. Lots of negative recruiting out there. I know we fans would be worried if Illinois did this to a kid.

Is Dwayne Lawson still coming to CU?

From what I've read the best case scenario would be him coming in August which means he would have little to no impact this upcoming season. He may not arrive until January of 2018, if he arrives at all.

I'll be interested to see what happens with Kaleb Eleby. He mentioned that he wants to make a decision this Summer. Illinois and Iowa State are his only P5 offers, he's visited us numerous times and Iowa State just got a commitment from Re-al Mitchell:

http://247sports.com/Player/Re-al-Mitchell-80248

Who knows when the next commit could come? The staff has been extending numerous offers to 2018 players but don't seem to be in a hurry to get commitments from players. The St. Louis targets are just trimming their lists to 10 schools.

That being said, Pearl's commitment came from nowhere.

One other thing about Lawson (above) is that he never signed a Letter of Intent. If he doesn't make it here by August, could he stay at Garden City and play there in the fall? He could then sign in December as an early enrollee. I understand he could sit out this fall and not do anything but if he's not on campus and he's not playing at a JUCO then he's wasting valuable practice time/game experience that could help prepare him for 2018.

This also means that interest from both sides could wane and he could end up elsewhere as there is nothing binding him to come here. This may be why Illinois did not want him to sign an LOI in February. Second and Chalmers pretty much called it when this was announced as far as him potentially never ending up here.

The appeal of him was adding depth at QB THIS FALL. I wish the staff had done a better job of bringing in another QB who fits the system. They were really replacing three QBs in the last class (Lunt, Peters and Fitzgerald) and they only got Thomas who should not be an option this Fall.
