And if that's not bad enough, more CB's predictions going ASU way today

I'd say he is gone. This is not the way i wanted to end our recruiting process. I was hoping for a big commit at the end, but it doesn't look good now.

I've always felt that Merlin was the longest of long shots, and that became even more so after the coaching change in ASU, so I will not be the least bit surprised or disappointed if he decides to stay closer to home.

Much more concerning that this staff cannot attract a good quality LB prospect from the Midwest.

Lovie has been on the recruiting trail less than 2 years. Why is this so concerning?

Hello Shammond Cooper, your table is waiting in IL sir.

I meant for our chances. the timing doesn't add up because Lovie has his PC at 2:15. He is going to announce between 1-3. I don't see Lovie having it that soon if he knows we have a chance.

Why are those two things linked?

Also looks like we're recruiting DB Dylan Watt out of Cali...no clue where he comes into play but his other offer is Northern Arizona. So there's that. Doubt he's walking on.

Wyatt announcing this weekend. Just visited us on an official. Seems like a good sign. Good size for a CB, 6-2 177. Pretty good tape on Hudl. I can see why Lovie offered him, despite not having major offers.

*waits for Lovie presser to be moved from 2:15 to 5:15*

Once the CBs start going against us this close to a decision date its most likely over. Oh well, let’s see if a lower ranked LB commits as soon as Robertson’s decision is made.

I’m definitely no insider, but there isn’t any more chatter regarding Illinois and I believe he had himself posing in Louisville gear on social media pretty recently.

Thanks! I'm just always fishing for information to hang on.

If its still officially undecided, then Hardy and Lovie are just quietly working on plan B & plan C. Getting them lined up in case. Its an awkward position to be in this late in the game. I highly doubt its this scenario.

but if Robertson 100% knows its ASU , then he's told Lovie and Hardy (and/or whoever his recruiter is ) and our guys are already working the phones and internet hard on Plan B and Plan C tonite. If we get a LB to commit before 11am, then that is the case.

if Robertson knows 100% its Illinois, then we are only working hard on the one or two or three other guys they want to sign tomorrow.

But My guess is the staff knows right now who will sign tomorrow, barring some last minute flip our way, and in that case, we oversign by 1 or 2 or 3.

I know using Twitter as evidence to where a kid will go isnt always accurate but the last 15 people Merlin followed are all Illini coaches/players/recruit.

!!!!!!!!!

if we don't sign a different linebacker before Robertson announces, I like our chances.

But all this logic has me thinking " Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool; you would have counted on it; so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me!"

Inconceivable!

Someone posted an article on this site about a week ago that this is a 70% indicator of where a kid may go
