Ill be honest...I'm kind of "eh" about the situation now.

I can understand that but I'm still dreaming about having a guy ACTUALLY RETURN PUNTS instead of running away or muffing it. Our best case scenario last year once Dudek was injured was just having guys catch the punts. Thomas could do more than just that.

I'm getting sick of the drama too so hopefully this ends one way or another very quickly.

I don't know what else these tweets could be in reference to since we're really not recruiting anyone at this point. Maybe one of the OL transfers?

Are we really that short of OLs? Seems like we have several young OLs already. We need another sure handed WR IMHO.

One is needed now (WR) one is needed later (OL). You have room for both so you want to take both.

Not arguing that. The conversation was about Jeff's priorities as a father in comparison to others on this board. I, amongst others, would rather be closer to our children. Playing in Miami isn't the only option to get into the NFL. He has shown what he can do, and he can play at Illinois or even a lower level that doesn't require him to sit. He gets to be close to his daughter and get drafted, barring injury.

Fair and I do understand you're making other, valid points but for the purpose of the kid's decision making process, if being in close proximity to family were his primary concern, he wouldn't have signed with Miami to begin with. It's clear he views things differently than you or I would/do.

And I agree with the poster above, I'm very "eh" about the whole situation. My focus/intrigue lies with the rest of our recruiting options, Khalil Tate potential and keeping Shammond Cooper. If Thomas joins our ride, so be it.

My expert analysis of the staffs gifs is that if it were a new commit, someone would've stated the columns are hot. Instead, their responses have just been positive excited gifs, which leads to the conclusion it's about JT.

Wimbush and Hurts dont look to be on UoI's radar. Top landing spots via Vegas are Houston (Hurts) and PSU (Wimbush). 2017 National Champion UCF is a strong contender for Wimbush too (apparently he was really impressed with his visit). It looks like Miltons future is a big deciding factor though. No odds on Tate, but this article states UoI is his top potential landing spot.

Its 2 mo old though.

Maybe it's good news on Tate!

That's what I was thinking.

That would make more sense. These weird tweets are usually reserved for guys they can't talk about. They can comment on JT since he already signed a Big Ten Tender of Financial Aid and was already announced by the University.

But they wouldn't comment on JT. There is too much to lose.

In this case (I guess recruiting in general) don’t pay attention to the journey, only the end result. Elite WR are difference makers in college; they can make average QB look great.

Recruiting is always about the future. As a result, OLs are always needed. We only added two HS OL in the last class now that Unije is gone so we need guys on the roster to develop so we can have guys ready to add depth and possibly start by 2021 and 2022. This is something that can not be ignored and if it is then we'll see a repeat of the disaster that was 2017 where we had 4 Freshmen starting at times.
Also lost Griffith in the class before. I forget what year darts lee was. Seems like we have 9 OL, guessing closer to 15 is ideal? Backup plan is probably pearl and brown moving to OL, or could be part of the plan??

Hurts will decide between Miami, Oklahoma, and Maryland.

Wimbush may very well end up at UCF. Very, very doubtful that Penn State is interested with Tommy Stevens and Sean Clifford duking it out next year (and highly touted freshman Michael Johnson Jr. suiting up).

Tate Martell is another QB transfer to look out for. But, he's probably looking out west.

Would be nice to snag Tate if he decides to transfer.
