I don't follow football recruiting as closely, but any of these signees a surprise or flip?

Jones' Twitter page signature indicates he is a um commit.

That kid going to Jackson St instead of FSU confuses me, does he not have anyone looking out for him? He should be a future pro.

Jackson State alum Walter Payton would like a word.
He even references the rich football history of HBCU’s in his commitment announcement. Sometimes things are much bigger than football, and people have different priorities. What might be the clear choice to one is not the clear choice to everyone else. Good for this kid charting his own path.

So what’s the consensus- have we addressed areas of need? Where will we still need to hit the transfer portal and/or pick up more ‘22 recruits?

If the Bears found Walter Payton from Jackson State in 1975 I'm sure there will be plenty of tape in 2022 and beyond for scouts to watch on Hunter.
That's not my point. My point is development. The resource at any Power 5 school blow anything at Jackson St out of the water. The college football world is a much different place than it was in 1975.

Did anyone else see the video of his commitment? He did a triple hat trick on Auburn, Georgia, and FSU. It's a really cool story but man. I guess at least he never has to worry about playing any of them anyway.

Iron is iron. Amazing facilities are cool and make the journey easier, but in the end, it's all about your talent level and what you put into it. There are kids going from JUCO to the NFL. And some of those facilities are awful.
