First and Chalmers here.I misinterpreted a text, I guess. Thought we were getting *the* announcement and we instead got the announcement regarding the announcement. Apologies there.
In any case though,.

So, it’s 11:09. News Anyone? Anyone?
The goal is to retain all top in-state kids. In aiming for perfection we can achieve greatness.Obviously this will change from year to year depending on needs and how big our recruiting class is, but is there a type of goal the staff has for in state recruiting? Like, if Coach B gets this train rolling and the program is healthy, should we be getting 50% of the top 20 in state kids? Is that too much?
Too early to tell, but what I am hoping that what we can do is what Wisconsin did when BB was there and what they and Iowa still routinely do. Take 3* players develop them and make them contributors by their junior or senior year. Tank seems to have a good feel and ability to build out guys and keep them explosive. These 1st two classes will be a strong example with how many 3*s we have.Love getting back into ESL. Hopefully will help get a few more in don't mind taking some lower rated guys to build the relationship(not that Hayden is). Anyone have any info on where we expect him to play and style of play? 2 top 700 and top 15 instate guys is great way to start a class.
That is definitely going to be the route to sustainable success that we will need to follow.Too early to tell, but what I am hoping that what we can do is what Wisconsin did when BB was there and what they and Iowa still routinely do. Keeping Cory Patterson on staff was a great move. Can't let Mizzou have free reign over STL
How close Farrell to casting his lot with the Illini? The goal is to retain all top in-state kids. In aiming for perfection we can achieve greatness.
Terry will be very important. While I like Cory, 2 things:
A) You need to be beating out other top programs (esp Mizzou) for STL talent before he's proven to be successful. It's been a while since we/he have done that
B) Let's not ignore that Terry Hawthorne was likely very helpful here
There's a ton of STL talent that we need to get and we haven't had much traction recently
Terry is very important. Guy gave it all for us and is respected on both sides of the riverTerry will be very important.
Feagin is working on him. I think we have a pretty good shot, but I have no info other than what I’ve heard and read from public outlets. How close Farrell to casting his lot with the Illini?
