Definitely a concern but they were late recruiting QBs with the Lunney hire so not unexpected. Got a guy who has some solid traits and could work out but I'd be pleasantly surprised if he's ever our starter. The type of QB (more athletic) is something to watch though

Dilfer's QB was always going to push for more offers IMO since he seems just like a propaganda machine right now

Yeah, it was. Then I watched his clips. I urge everyone interested to do the same.

Just to be clear, I love the Georgia kid too, but he was going to be a much harder pull. Same with the Wheaton kid playing in Nashville.

Kid has a lot of talent, even though it kinds felt like he was running for his life every snap.

That can unfortunately be habit forming(see Johnny Manziel) but with Lunney who is a former QB himself I'm optimistic.

Yup, at least that’s how I remember it. All I could think was…. “THEY DID IT, THEY GOT RID OF LEMON AND NOW EVERY STARBURST IS GOOD!!!!” (I apparently really liked starbursts back in the day)

Maybe my memory is off and it was a specialty pack…or a retro pack. But eventually I found out it was limited time and the yellows came back. A sad day.

Anyway, this is the recruiting thread…hopefully we like the new QB commit more than yellow starbursts!

Tough to say. The fact they got them on an OV should tell you they are in the running, but the fact they couldn't lock them down may indicate UI isn't the top choice here (it may not indicate that as well). While commitments to one school after OV'ing another happen, I would imagine the odds decline pretty significantly if they leave campus without a commitment

I would've said differently a few years ago, but the current environment seems to yield earlier commitments

Is it because he short-arms it a little bit? He seems to have plus athleticism and is accurate and extremely alert in the pocket. I’m having trouble reconciling his offer list versus his film versus us taking him versus my extremely limited knowledge. It’s hard to be me sometimes

His foot speed looks incredible. He has the intangibles, it will come down to the coaching staff working on his footdrills in the pocket to prevent him from getting "happy feet." Looks like the coaching staff got a jump on this kid because I look for him to get a lot more exposure in the next year.
