No Arch Manning crystal balls for us yet?Someone named Clit Cosgrove over at Rivals dot com is projecting massive flips to Illini beginning next week. Starting with Malik Elzy, “a lineman committed to Wisconsin”, an ESL kid signed to an SEC school, a safety out of K3 Kankakee (rise upppp!) and Sam M’Pemba. Absolute shocking and would stack up there with that Zook class from 06…
Should we trust Clit oris he just blowing smokeAre you saying it's hard to find Clit's truth?

Methinks someone is trying to drive traffic to the site...This is what happens when you freebase orange koolaid. I'll take these are ramblings. Elzy committing next week is possible. A couple others could happen in the long-term. M'Pemba is absolutely not coming to Illinois nor is Illinois even being considered. Hill isn't committed anywhere.
So how much legitimate information is there on Sam M'Pemba ???I am attempting to edit my post to correct the man’s name. Clint Cosgrove is the analyst’s name. Forgive me, as this was neither an attempt at humor or disrespect. He seems to have knowledge of a lot of programs including Coach Bielema’s. His accuracy seems to be driven by what he sees not what he’s hearing which I find refreshing. Scrolling through his page, he has great relationships with the players and went so far as to hand deliver Malachi Coleman to Nebraska. He hosted the in person commitment event and I would imagine he will host others.
Any guesses on which linesman committed to Wisconsin will flip? Terek or Howard would be nice.So how much legitimate information is there on Sam M'Pemba ???
I wouldn't trust in that rumor unless he actually takes a visit. I could see Elzy and Hill committing, and maybe one of the Wisconsin DL commits flipping, but M'Pemba and an ESL player committed to an SEC school flipping to us seem a little out there right now. Would have to be McVay who is committed to Alabama and didn't visit us, or the the other OL committed to Arkansas that we haven't offered. Who knows, but seems a little far fetched at the moment. So how much legitimate information is there on Sam M'Pemba ???

There is not a chance in the world that McVay flips from Bama. Bama has struggled at o-line the last few years and he will probably not just ride the bench if he gets his body in shape.I wouldn't trust in that rumor unless he actually takes a visit. right I agree. If we flip any OL, it's probably Miller the JUCO committed to Ole Miss that recently visited us for the Iowa game. There is not a chance in the world that McVay flips from Bama. Wow, that'd be an impressive theft.good call. adding to our Mississippi pipeline: https://247sports.com/player/izavion-miller-46134147/

Last few classes for Lovie were in the high 60s to low 80s range. BB landed some recruits but had to add through the transfer portal to get more depth on the roster right away.
Illinois getting top 30 classes is attainable but really not necessary at all. We keep landing JUCO players that develop on the lines than we are fine. Quality recruits are necessary for long term success but it isn't often you have a huge number of freshman just start from day one. If you can get a number of them to play great, but for example line play it isn't often that a number of freshman are physically ready to play on the trenches. BB is hitting the trails hard trying to get more bodies in because it looks like we are going to lose some guys to the Draft if they keep up the current pace.
I haven't looked up numbers but am sure the SEC probably lands majority of schools in the top 30 of recruiting each year. SEC is a beast. Beyond that you have the usuals such as Clemson, Notre Dame, future SEC OU and Texas among others inside top 30 along with Ohio St and Michigan. Ton of talent available and BB recruits for his system. His classes are usually in the 30s-50s range. Illinois is more than fine if we stay consistent and add recruits this way along with adding JUCO players and some players through the transfer portal. Illinois just needs to keep reaching out to a ton of recruits each year. We might not land our wish list the first time but doesn't mean they can't have a change of heart before college or even after the first year of college. Hopefully Elzy is a great example of this real soon![]()
The difference we know already is BB likes a good mix of players from all levels and he can develop talent and coach. Top 30 or better, top 40, top 50, etc I feel comfortable with and doesn't really matter much to me. I have been drinking his Kool-Aid for awhile now and a certain number is more to make the fanbase feel special than what cards BB is holding in his hand.
We got a crystal ball for Maverick Gracio.
Mongo, huh?Bray: rolling ball of knives. 2 years with Tank, 40-50 additional pounds of muscle and voila, a problem. Not suggesting he'll be as good as Mongo, but Mongo-lite? My Kool Aid fever says maybe.
This is who I think of when I hear Mongo - Steve McMichaelMongo, huh?
