Crazy number of offers out there. This staff is getting after it!
I'd actually disagree with Chris Low on this being a huge get. Cowboy fans weren't sad to see him leave although a change of scenery will probably help him. Sanders has a ton of experience but he also commits a ton of turnovers and questionable decisions that someone with his experience shouldn't make. I don't think we ever went after him but I wouldn't have wanted him here.
So is the portal open again after spring ball to allow movement after a competitive battle? If Sanders lost, he can transfer again without sitout penalty since he is likely a grad transfer?Rumor is...Jaxson Dart, the incumbent QB and Spencer Sanders will battle for the starting job this spring. The loser will enter the transfer portal. I wouldn't be opposed to hanging around the back alley waiting for some scraps!
The portal is currently closed, but will reopen in May. I'm not sure of the transfer rules and only go by the rumors from this internet machine! It doesn't seem logical, but in this age of NIL, what is logic??So is the portal open again after spring ball to allow movement after a competitive battle? I do think once you are a “grad student “ you can transfer as often as you want .The portal is currently closed, but will reopen in May. I'm not sure of the transfer rules and only go by the rumors from this internet machine! It doesn't seem logical, but in this age of NIL, what is logic??
We should - he actually committed here before flipping to Miami if I recall correctly, different coaching staff of course. But anybody with 42 games starting under their belt at a P5 school, would be a very good solutionWe did the kabuki with this guy, now he's in the portal.
Wonder if we'll reach out?
Nose tackle it seems? We lose Avery and Verdis, so need a solid contributor to rotate with Edwards.Ok, i'm a little confused on why we went after another DL? I'm not complaining, i just thought we were going after players from a different position , we are pretty stacked at DL.
Since we lost Avery and Brown at the nose, at 6'2" 318 (per Ohio's website), he's probably big enough to help Edwards and Wilkins in the middle.Ok, i'm a little confused on why we went after another DL? No thanks. He was 1000% committed to us until someone else offered. We did the kabuki with this guy, now he's in the portal.

Very thin at NT though.Ok, i'm a little confused on why we went after another DL? I'm not complaining, i just thought we were going after players from a different position , we are pretty stacked at DL.
I’m sad we didn’t get an @Indy Illini Fan “boom” since his name is Denzel.
No idea about overall quality or who we have a chance with, but according to 24/7 the Illini have offered top 11 in-state players in class as well as 14 and 19. Our first commit was #19 Hansen, an OL. Three others (#2, 3 and 5) have committed elsewhere and ND has a CB for #1 player in state. Illini have also offered 9 Illinois players in 2025 class thus far.Lot of NJ, Ind and PA offers hgoing out. How is the 24 Illinois HS class shape up ?
