I'm not an insider and I do not have 247 premium, so just using deductive reasoning skills. Illinois is/was in on four, 4-star prospects: Brian Robinson, Luke Williams, Marquise Lightfoot, and Ricky Knight. Brian Robinson isn't committed, so he can't be "flipped". Luke Williams is listed as visiting Purdue today. Ricky Knight is listed as visited for Florida State tomorrow, so extremely unlikely he's coming to Champaign the day before.

That just leaves Lightfoot, buuuuuut Werner says it's an official visit. While players now can take unlimited official visits, you are limited to one official visit per school. So whoever it is, it's gotta be someone not reported on here (?).

About 99% certain I saw Dylan Stephenson walking back to the locker room with the players after the game. He and his gf(?) were looking at everyone lining the ramp up to the east balcony celebrating the win.

According to Werner Stephenson wants to play school (which is cool btw) so Stanford might be tougher battle than we would assume.

Stanford is a LONG way from home ... And let's not forget ... Illinois is a pretty dang good school ...

Those kids who really care about academics are such easy visits for us ... Bret is so well liked by professors for how the football team carries themselves in the classroom ...

It is always awesome hearing about when a professor does the hard sell and A Hen, Bret or whoever just sits back and relaxes because they've got the easy part ... :ROFLMAO:

He's in Miami. If home is important, this isn't a battle for Illinois.

Seems pretty humble
Well, I'm sure there are more than a few modest backs out there which much to be modest about. For a decade we used to sign em up to play here.

But I understand where you're coming from. I would note a couple of things. In the NIL era, hyping yourself is going to become the norm. Also, when you're in downstate, it's sometimes hard to get noticed, or at least it feels that way.

In an era where tape is readily available for almost any decent player on any backwater 1A team, you need to stand out. I know parents making Instagram accounts for their under 12yr old kids to create highlight reels for when they are old enough to be scouted. This isn't even in the burbs, this is central IL.

This kid is making a direct statement about what he has accomplished so far this season and has reason to be proud of it. Not sure what the issue is.

Can’t wait to see how he does against Rochester this week.
We'll know if he's good after tonight, though I'll be watching the beloved and not high school this week. I'm not a fan of Friday night games because it takes fans away from the high schools who we want to gain favor with. Rochester has outscored their opponents 98 to 14 so far so this will be a huge test for the Generals and MJC.
