Illinois is on a recruiting collision course with Wisconsin this coming offseason. A LOT of the 2026 in-state recruits brought onto campus for unofficials during the season are also being prioritized by the Badgers. Here's hoping this season carries some cache into each of these recruiting battles. I'll be rooting for Minnesota to end their bowl streak.

Definitely frustrating to see these neighboring teams have more success within our borders. What Iowa did this year is really depressing. Would be nice to make a dent in our top 15 every year. Not going to get them all, but a handful would be great

Let's keep winning.....another 8 or 9 win season next year, and the year after, and we will begin to see those kids stay home. Sustained success....I believe we are on our way. I.B.W.T. !!!

Completely trust the staff so I don't want this to come off as negative, just a question. Our current recruiting class is not ranked well - if the staff turns this season's on field success into recruiting success, what will that look like? Flips of highly ranked high schoolers? A strong portal season?

I was thinking that Miles McVay still isn’t starting for Alabama. Illinois could get him if he enters the portal and they could have 3/5 of the 2021 East St Louis offensive line (McVay, Henderson, Priestley) all starting for Illinois. Somehow that ESL team, who also had top 10 pick Luther Burden, did not win the state title that year. They lost in the finals to Cary-Grove by 1 point.

We're getting on field results but NIL is still rough compared to other schools... just gotta keep developing players and show the prospective players the results on the field.
