Good class but Bret’s got to start locking up the borders of the state. Too many of the top in state kids going to the top programs and Iowa and Wisconsin.

He attend UIUC for a couple of years. He didn’t graduate. Not sure there are records of him making contributions to the university in the past. No buildings with his name on it that I know of. This is basically like asking my Michael Jordan doesn’t fund UIUC NIL.
Locking down the state will never happen. Plus there is a lot of high school talent outside of IL. I am glad our basketball program recruits well beyond our borders. The same should be done with football. Get some great players from IL but also look at other places.
A few more seasons such as this one or even 8-4 seasons and he will. Keep stacking successful season the top in state recruits will come

Our 3rd highest ranked recruit in the 247 composite, and that moves us up to the #43 class, just head of IU. Not bad!
Penn State, Nebraska, Tennessee, Boston College, Syracuse, etc. have all offered this RB. He is a good one.
