He also just turned 19 before the season. He’s still very young
Not football-related, but one of my first reactions was that this young man will easily get his degree and maybe a masters too, all at a gentle academic pace. He has a really nice setup if he values the degree too.

No idea where Illinois stands with Key but he'll be a good barometer of the NIL operation at Illinois compared to the field. It's not an absolute, because the program could bring in someone of similar stature, but this is the type of WR you can attract with the QB situation, after a 9-win season, and with the NIL apparatus ramping up.

What we are building here is more sustainable long term. Recruits see that and good things will come along soon….let the process play out. 😎
But we know it's all about money these days. If Nebraska has enough, he will go there. I don't know if it is about winning anymore. If a school is willing to pay good money, they will go there.

Gabe and Pat took a lot less to stay. They trusted the development
Yeah, and it's also why Luke would think it's far more beneficial to stay even if he were to receive a higher NIL deal elsewhere. Having consistency in your coach and scheme year to year and being able to see your own development is significant. As is winning. So long as Luke feels the team is going to have lineman to protect him next season and we go out and secure him another top end WR, in most cases it would be to his own detriment to leave if he wants a shot at the NFL, even if they were to offer more money. Consistency, experience, timing, and knowledge are difficult to put a price on. It happens, sure, but when you know you have a good thing going it becomes less likely

Our faculty loves shooting our school in the foot sometimes. It's an honorary degree, guys, just give it to the man, it really isn't that difficult. If 90% of the faculty were held to the same standards they hold other people, they never would be allowed anywhere near campus. Just pure ego.

"Faranak Miraftab, who teaches in the UI’s urban planning department, described the Kahn nomination as “questionable” because she wondered whether it was motivated by Khan’s financial gifts to the UI. She said “honorary degrees should not be awarded on that basis.”

Stephanie Fortado, who teaches in labor and industrial relations and is also a member of the Champaign County Board, recalled joining protests over labor practices at the local Flex-N-Gate plant a decade ago.

“Some of the things we heard about were, frankly, terrible,” said Fortado, who also complained about “unbelievable” environment and safety violations.

Kate Clancy, a member of the anthropology department, complained about news reports that Khan recently held a “yacht party” attended by politicians she deemed suspect."

It never fails to amaze me when someone hates their employer so much that they work against the employer. At the very least, they should understand basic economics. And maybe, just maybe, look on the positive side of things?

The Fortado quote is a hilarious self-own, because by saying she heard some terrible things means she never actually researched it, otherwise she would have said "in her research and investigation of the safety violation case against Khan."

The Clancy and Miraftab quotes are also great, because yes, lets not give an honorary degree because you don't like the invites on the guest list to a business meeting/party or because the person donated to your school. Reasoning like that would get them an F in their own classes.

Dear Lord. It's just an honorary degree. Awarding it doesn't hurt anything, but not awarding it can only hurt (financially). Hopefully Shahid can look past the stupidity of the certain academic factions and separate it from how Josh represents the university and runs the sports operations.

I cannot believe that moron still teaches there. For anyone who had Kate Clancy as a professor, you might join me in saying that she is one of the worst professors at the school. Could not keep her personal beliefs out of the classroom for the life of her.
