X for sure then probably GabeCreates a fun fan question. If you could bring back two of the following, who are you choosing?
JC Davis
Gabe Jacas
Xavier Scott
JC Davis, Gabe Jacas - one stops the pass rusher, one rushes the passer .... that's where the game is won and lost most times than not.Creates a fun fan question. If you could bring back two of the following, who are you choosing?

Why does everyone think it’s set in stone that one of them is gone?Going to be interesting to see who out of 3 leaves. Would rather have Scott and Jacas back and just get two more OL’s but tough choice.
Why does everyone think it’s set in stone that one of them is gone?
Oh, and Illinois had 14 All-BIG selections this past year: Scott, Bryant, Jacas, JC Davis, Hank Beatty, Altmyer, Gesky, Kruetz., Priestly, Rosiek, TeRah, Bailey, Lane Hansen, Olano. Take away Bryant and Edwards (no eligibility), that's whom he refers to as the "12 All Big Ten guys."
Idk, it's not. In the tweet he stated, "Some things still to clear up with (names) but feel good about the majority of those guys." "things still to clear up" could easily signal "working on it."Why does everyone think it’s set in stone that one of them is gone?
Definitely possible he's referring to one of these guys.Oh, and Illinois had 14 All-BIG selections this past year: Scott, Bryant, Jacas, JC Davis, Hank Beatty, Altmyer, Gesky, Kruetz., Priestly, Rosiek, TeRah, Bailey, Lane Hansen, Olano. Strong arguments to be made for all three, but in this exercise:Creates a fun fan question. If you could bring back two of the following, who are you choosing?

Because the incessantly negative, nauseatingly ignorant posters, who tear down the team in every game thread, just can’t help themselves. Why does everyone think it’s set in stone that one of them is gone?
kinda true ...Because the incessantly negative, nauseatingly ignorant posters, who tear down the team in every game thread, just can’t help themselves.
They posted a few positive posts yesterday, for the first time ever, & now have to crap all over the recruiting thread, with ridiculous supposition & negativity.
Or maybe the coaches comments lends people to believe that one of them are not a lock and could possibly leave? Good grief, could you over react a little bit more yourself? We are only going by the coaches comments and he made sound like that one of the players may not come back. why is that so hard to understand?Because the incessantly negative, nauseatingly ignorant posters, who tear down the team in every game thread, just can’t help themselves.

Thank You! They know who they are.Because the incessantly negative, nauseatingly ignorant posters, who tear down the team in every game thread, just can’t help themselves.

Simple, true answer: he didn't. But people here love to pencil in assumptions, even with zero validation or justification. This is just another example, not that big a deal.Very confused. Again, it's totally plausible that Jacas doesn't come back, but when did Bret "lend people to believe" that Jacas (or any of those three) is not coming back?
He says "think we can get 11 of the 12 (returning) All-BIG guys back", "some things to still clear up with Jacas, Scott, Davis" and "feel good about the majority of those guys" ("majority of those guys" meaning the All-BIG guys and essential pieces). Out of Jacas, Scott, Davis - 2/3 and maybe 3/3 with Jacas as the wild card was always the likeliest outcome, but Bret's quotes don't move the table one bit.
Some are just way too inclined to suppose factuality and stand on it with little to no validation of merit.
The Georgia QB room agrees with you.JC Davis is the clear answer as to who is the most important for our team next season. I always go with building in the trenches over any other position.
Bret’s pretty aware of what comes out of his mouth when doing media.I guarantee Bret put way less thought into what he said than many here.
