I think the rankings for Illini in the much too early preseason rankings will have a big impact on recruiting. Combined with the bowl win, they help recruits see this goes beyond Illini being a good development school that might have a couple of good seasons while you are there. Kids believe this season wasn’t just a flash in the pan will lead to recruiting success that isn’t a flash in the pan either.

Bret, take notes here. You have to give your highest ranked targets the max amount of attention and time their visits so that you're the first team they visit once they narrow down to the top 3. Lock them in and move down the list. Then you're golden. An easy 10+ 5-star recruits a season.
