Paris told Illini Inquirer. "It means so much. Just that these coaches are putting trust in me and they really are betting on me. I've got a chip on my shoulder for all these other schools that haven't bet on me, and it's really only going to make me work harder."

nice . i’m sure he’s gonna be our next Clay Fejedelem

Tell me you aren’t from south/central Illinois without telling me you aren’t from south/central Illinois lol
I graduated in 2001 from one of the largest high schools in central Illinois. I'm pretty sure Paris as a whole was the size of my graduating class. I was a 3 sport athlete and a multiple letterman. I was also in multiple club activates that completed against schools, for example The Scholastic Bowl Team (yes nerd alert). Not once in any of my athletic competitions did we goes against a team from Paris, IL. The first time I learned of that townships existence was in college because one of my fraternity brothers graduated from there.

Sidenote: Paris Cooperative High School did open until 2009

Sidenote times 2: I have lived outside of central Illinois now for over 20 years...

Don’t know of any central Illinois schools that have 8000+ in their graduating class.

There was an O-lineman from Paris from a couple years ago that popped up on Werner's recruiting twitter, but don't know where he ended up going.
Also former Illini b-ball player Otho Tucker was from Paris.

Makes total sense. Central Illinois covers a wide area and there isn’t much going on up there. I grew up playing sports in the Apollo conference which covered a fair bit of area(at the time it was Mt. Zion down to Salem, over to Olney and then up to Paris). Anyway, back to football recruiting.

I can confirm Paris has a football team….a bit of trivia…in 1983, we (Mt. Zion HS) beat Paris Tigers 91-7 for Homecoming. At the time, the worst beating that had ever occurred in MTZ history.
You went easy on ‘em then. 😂

(What broke the record?! When could have possibly been more lopsided than that?)

Jefferson High School, Sioux Falls, IA | Class of 26 | 4⭐️TE | Football/Basketball/Track | 6’6 230 | 6’10 Wingspan:
woowee, flippin' slew of great offers

Is this an indication that getting both Anderson and Sutter is not looking like its going to happen?
or an indication the staff would like to get 3 top notch Tight Ends in the 26' class?
or a backup plan in case Anderson or Sutter don't commit?

I think it’s more an indication that our coaches really think highly rated athletic tight ends are super valuable and you just can’t have too many of them as they tend to have value all over the field .
