I don’t know, but the phrasing is somewhat misleading. It says “coached by current Illini coaches”, so the second was probably not a former Illini.
Quinyon Mitchell was coached by Corey Parker at Toledo.

Honestly, these stories always get warped so not worth the time. Good luck to the kid - made what he thinks is the best decision.
Of course given he picked them and is all in now he’s gonna respond to questions saying how it was the best, felt different, special connection to someone or something, etc. no different then when kids pick us.

2027 qb Purcell committed to Indiana. Will be interesting to see how he does. He’s a hold back that’ll turn 20 early in his freshman season
