Unfortunately the Hitters have dipped in the last couple of years while York, LT and DGN have stepped up. Hinsdale Central also has been below their standards of late but they will get no sympathy from anyone in the area.
I lived in Hinsdale from 1987-2013. my three kids went to school there . when I moved there , the football program was pathetic . 1-8 or 2-7 every year until mid 90’s. Then they got serious about sports besides golf/swimming/tennis and they were strong in both hoops and football and baseball . they got real good in football and I watched them lose to maine south in the finals in ahout 2009 or so.

since about 2015, influential monied people have chased away a couple decent coaches and they now go through AD’s & coaches like I go through socks .

I also think some parents are keeping some of the better athletes away from football and more towards the lesser contact sports . not sure what the future holds for prep football anymore , especially there , but really overall in general .

Hey All,

Just wanted to give you a quick update on my nephew's recruitment. He committed to Army yesterday!

In this day and age, I can still hold out hopes he is an Illini one day; however, we are super proud of his committment not only to play football at Army but to serve his country.
Absolutely outstanding choice!! I served with the 10th Mountain Division years ago and helped train some cadets from West Point.
The best this Country has to offer.

Go Army!

Interesting. Admittedly I've only watched tape (and tape does lie to me) but JC's first few steps off the line seem slow. A lack of explosion for a TE, let alone being split out. He won't be playing against Mattoon. Davon Grant would be the big split out that ultimately develops into that physical and athletic receiving spot. That I would buy. We'll see how it plays out but if I was in the JC camp, I'd keep an eye on LT. He may not get that big? I just don't see that athletic receiving TE.

IMO, if things don't pan out, it's better on Kiffin's watch than Bielema's.

LT? JC isn’t known for being a physical player so I don’t see that happening. He’s 6’6 and a good athlete but he needs to develop a lot physically. Give Vala a year in the weight room and he will be destroying people. Watch his film he plays very physical but he’s only 6’3. Vala has the higher floor but Anderson has the higher ceiling.

Could be but this year he is still in high school, next year likely to redshirt as most freshman do, and then competing to get on the field as a redshirt freshman season 3. Technically 2 years in the calendar but 3 football seasons

I thought you meant that he wouldn’t play until his 3rd year in the program. Give him a redshirt year and he will be on the field a lot for us

The boys are both from a farm just a little southwest of Basco. I have several cousins living in that area as my father grew up on farm near Basco. I grew up and went to school at Augusta before it was Southeastern. Though I now live in New Canaan, CT I still own the farm near Augusta with my sister.
I went to Camp Point Central.

My sister bet that I couldn't build a car out of spaghetti. You should've seen her face when I drove pasta.

There was a kidnapping at school yesterday. Don't worry, though—he woke up!

What do you get when you mix alcohol and literature? Tequila mockingbird.

What washes up on tiny beaches? Microwaves.

The guy who invented the door knocker got a no-bell prize.
What do you call a guy with a bucket over his head?
A pail face.

I know the boys you are talking about. I'm actually related to them by marriage on my mom's side.

On JC, from what I have heard….no.
Makes completely no sense based on his numerous visits, if true. To the point where would we really want him even as a transfer? Probably more to it than strictly HIS decision based on behavior over the past two years. Not sure how coaching staffs continue to do it when things like this happen.....
