Tough to get those guys when you win 5 games the year before. Winning matters, winning helps.15:00 - I’d imagine he’s talking about Sutter and Oregon running back Dierre Hill Jr (“went out west”, played large amount of snaps as a true frosh).

After aggrandizing himself first as the AD..totally took away the moment that belonged to the Smith family.Do you mean the Mark Smith announcement? The AD took forever and took the opportunity to self aggrandize the HS.
I am no insider, heck I might the least insidery person of this board, but I might have a scoop of all people. I was on Twitter discussing the Sitake situation with a twitter mutual and predicted that Baker might end up at BYU. Apparently his twitter aka @BakerEaston randomly saw my post and liked it hehe.
Liked his film, stinks it didn't pan out.
Look at Smiths numbers. He’s never going to play QB here. We took him for one reason and you’ll find out at 1pm
imo we could use him on some short yardage, direct snap QB sneak/runs. We didn't exactly have that option this past year. That highlight video made me chuckle. That is not a D1 QB... lol
There's not going to be any major staff changes. They may have off-season of discussions regarding changing or "tweaking" the current scheme, but he's not going to pull the plug on coaches, starting the ball rolling on transfers.....after he's put a great recruiting class together and back to back solid seasons.Bret's huge belief in people and a little blurb around the 7:30ish mark about "our scheme" defensively leads me to wonder about major changes to the defense now?
Bingo. You can always mess with the scheme. When you put great class together and start getting a staff together that has been around a while, it creates a sense of comfort. That is sustainable. Now is the time Bret is a defensive guy well versed in many schemes. Even if we stick with AHen, we can reimagine our defense to better fit our talent.
he’s never gonna see a minute of meaningful game time . it was a favor done to micah .imo we could use him on some short yardage, direct snap QB sneak/runs. We didn't exactly have that option this past year.
Totally agree he could have some usage in the run game; however, that throwing motion reminded me of Uncle Rico... IYKYKimo we could use him on some short yardage, direct snap QB sneak/runs. We didn't exactly have that option this past year.
Friends don’t let friends drive drunk. If after 3 years we still have serious issues on D , it’s not just the Jimmys & Joes .Bingo. You can always mess with the scheme. When you put great class together and start getting a staff together that has been around a while, it creates a sense of comfort. That is sustainable.
Staff overhaul every three years isn't sustainable.
who ?Champ already has an Associate Degree.
Micah Smith.who ?
Should be more of an H-back, I think.imo we could use him on some short yardage, direct snap QB sneak/runs. We didn't exactly have that option this past year.
Good BTS look at his visit (back in April):
That's essentially how we used Jordan Anderson, IMO.imo we could use him on some short yardage, direct snap QB sneak/runs. We didn't exactly have that option this past year.
I thought he was still in high schoolMicah Smith.
I have a lot of Badger friends and they bring this up all the time, but don’t get it twisted…they’d take him back in a heartbeatproud to say I was 100% on board from the jump
his bs from back in the day didnt bother me as i was that guy myself in my 20’s - and then matured when the kids came
Sure it’s possible that we lose a recruit or two in the event of a staff change. You’re way too hellbent on not losing guys that haven’t even played a college snap vs. actually considering that an upgrade at DC and OL coaching shouldn’t at least be strongly considered. The D was terrible against good competition, and the adjustments were almost nonexistent. A complete starting five OL, in its second full season together, regressed. Good coaches adjust and get the most out what they have. They put players in the best position for success. That didn’t happpen with with the D or the OL.There's not going to be any major staff changes. They may have off-season of discussions regarding changing or "tweaking" the current scheme, but he's not going to pull the plug on coaches, starting the ball rolling on transfers.....after he's put a great recruiting class together and back to back solid seasons.
I think he knew the talent was the issue, thus the comment about players being able to come in here on day 1 and start. He's promoting competition and upgrading.
In this day and age, minimize turnover as much as humanly possible. He's not going to fire Henry and have, what, three defensive coordinators in 6 years?
That said, if he gets the talent to a point where he believes we should be competing for top 4 finishes and we're getting run off the field....I have no doubt he'll make changes accordingly.
I was a little meh when he was hired but man was that a good hire by Josh or what?
