lets see, just finished his freshman season, moving up a class (a big class) needs a year in the weight room...
shouldn't be much, maybe $75,000 with a promise to renegotiate once he's seeing the field. but maybe its
twice that, i don't know the market.

How much money do you think he’s going to cost?

Bingo … If we want him, we can afford him …

I was going to be worried about ASU if he entered but he wouldn’t see the field in that room … Hines has loaded up big time …

Leavitt looking pretty dumb for a lot of the things he did and ultimately leaving ASU … They’re loaded on offense …

Likely financial, right? You trade out Bowick who likely wanted a raise for someone you hope provides similar production at a discount.
He was originally at Colorado and a ton of injuries. I believe I red that he is following a former coach here who must think he can contributed if and when he is healthy. Sounds like he never has been. He is a big endzone target.

That’s exactly my point. If have no knowledge of NIL contracts, but it’s a crappy contract if someone can sign it and say “ah forget it - changed my mind”.

I led contract negotiations at a greedy fortune 100 that liked to be a bully, and contracts worked the way it wanted them to. Enough lawyers and enough desire to go after people and you can have a lot of control or make it very painful for someone that does not want to comply.

Sure, you can’t be stopped from transferring, but you could still be on the hook or face litigation. Would players want the hassle of being sued? I would think not.

Universities have money and lawyers to force the rules and/or play hard ball if they choose. Maybe it’s not a big enough issue yet for them to go that path.
What is the player on the hook for? What would be the basis for a breach of contract claim against the player?

As someone else pointed out, I’m sure the transferred player would be happy to come back and perform services in exchange for the NIL. It’s not the player that wants to break the contract.

Really what you’re claiming is something like a fraud in the inducement claim. That would be really hard to prove, but it would be fascinating to see play out.

~10,000 more to go, lol:
but, seriously, we need a kicker and this one is pretty good (and perfectly named)
Olano had the exact same stats this year 20 of 23 with a long of 47 - and many complained that his leg wasn't strong enough to command top money.

This guy is going to get a bag from SCUM I'm sure - it's a sellers market for Kickers right now!

we’ve signed up guys WAY worse than him.

I’m hoping Bret & Barry find a spot for him.
NFW he’s expensive coming from one year at ISU

Are we gonna be in for Dylan Lord?
I don't really see the fit in the WR room. The need is for a big target. Dixon can play the slot, provide good blocking, and mix in Rankin.

I’m sorry but are we poor… this is so sad. This defense needs drastic help. And we are playing on the fringes trying to find gems. Sack up Bret and spend some money. Feels like I’m watching the cubs offseason
