For a HS (Mt Carmel) that we used to have pretty close ties/pipeline to, it's interesting that we don't seem to get any traction with their recent top talent

This isn’t 1990 the hs coach doesn’t have as much influence as they did before. Kids play for 7on7 programs and have private trainers. They have a lot of people in their ear. Also players of that pedigree aren’t cheap. Burrell drives from Skokie to mt Carmel every day. I would imagine the family wants to be at a blue blood. I’m pretty sure he has a sister that swam at Michigan.

think he means cuz Whittingham is coach there now- LDS connection
I hear you. But isn't Michigan paying Bryce Underwood $10mm with Larry Ellison money? I am highly confident that was a "one trick poney." Also one would think its Jason Beck (talk about one trick ponies...), not Whittingham as the primary connection. Rather spend alot of time speculating, if I were 16 years old and the Univesity of Michigan had offered me a scholarship I would make certain everyone (including Barry Lunney) were aware of it. If I had a strong support group (and it appears Kamden does) I would want that announcement to come from me and no one else. He called the Notre Dame offer "a dream come true." Still looking for the definition of "good spot to flip him" comes from.

If we are going to try to recruit the best players, this is the competition we are going to face and we will face it every day. Or as Bill Self put it "if some of the players you are recruiting don't go somewhere else, you aren't recruiting the right players."

This is the "Big Boy League." We need to get comfortable with that if we want to compete. We also need to be slightly more positive as supporters.

I find it unique Kamden hasn't accepted somewhere else already given that "This is worst coaching staff we have ever had."

I know you are going to find this hard to believe. But these kids (and there parents) read the garbage we write. And it does influence them.

Feel like that sentiment only makes sense if the lost doesn't include ASU and Vandy..

That said, I trust our WR talent ID..

Uhh, I think its the other way around. I don't know of any recent Mount Carmel grads who start on FBS teams. More than will to be wrong if you have better info than I do.

"Seems like Michigan is in a good spot to flip him." How is that?
If you're truly committed you dont go getting excited about other schools offering you on your social media. It seems like a one foot in, one foot out type of situation.
