Illinois Football Recruiting Thread

I agree. Mack was a much better prospect. JC needs to get much more physical. He’s a basketball player that plays football.

Completely agree. Mack on this roster would have a shot to lead the TEs in snaps (possibly another hot take).

If Martin is successful then I'll question my statistical sanity. An argument that "his coaching was awful" could make sense but Illinois was also interested in the coach. The biggest counter for my beliefs is a handful of other good programs were also interested in him, so there's something on that tape.
They were never interested in his OL coach

Montini is a powerhouse program in the Chicago suburbs. It’s not like he’s at some under the radar 1a school
Nothing better than that feel good downstate/rural 1a story. What type of football competition have these Chicago area catholic schools played anyways?

Looks like a potential impact player as a big WR in certain sets and TE.willing blocker as well and is physical in some of those clips blocking. I haven't watched the entire tape but that is a good get in an offense that will be explosive IMO.

When was the last time we added a spring juco that actually played?

Agree. Look at where the Dunlap Tight-Ends ended up; Alabama and Ole Miss (LSU now).

Having either of those TE's would have had a huge impact on this fall's team.
JC was from M t Zion. I watched several of his HS games. He would not play at Illinois this coming year. We got the right kid from Mt Zion (Trimble)
