I'll also join in and beat the same dead horse I have in the past ... while this uniform set has BY FAR the best all-orange look we have ever had, we would still look better wearing the white pants. In my dream scenario, this would be the no-brainer...

On another topic, am I losing my marbles or did we switch the thickness of our B/W/B helmet stripe??

It's subtle, but I swear I have noticed the white part in the middle looking noticeably thicker than the navy stripes on either side this year, haha.

I think it looks better now, worse on Luke cause his giant helmet. I also wish we'd go O/B/O for OSU with the arched helmet, despite the orange out (which should be every game). If we do wear orange jerseys I think Illinois helmet with the white pants looks great. The white on the helmet sticker picks up the white on the pants, all orange there just isn't enough contrast and it's just will never look all that great.

It is, but there's also a reason every other team that uses a Block I logo adds text across - the logo looks bad without it (as I've said multiple times, vertical design on a horizontal canvas leaving tons of negative space). In our case, since we have much better alternatives (slant, script, arched) we should just not do the Block I at all, in any iteration, as a helmet logo.

I agree that the current version looks sharper, except for Luke ... just looks like the navy is too thin on his. I also think Florida's striping pattern is a very easy one to compare to ours, and they made their outside stripes too thin for my liking...

I agree, but I think you will be disappointed! We have rocked the orange uniforms four times under Bielema, and all four times have been O/O/O. He has some uniform tastes that I truly don't support (e.g., no #BPOTR and only wearing the white pants with the white jerseys...), but I'll give him this - he's consistent!

More than anything, I'm not a fan of going heavy on the orange against a red team. Though, I guess Ohio's road set is mostly white and grey. The all orange has grown on me, particularly for an "orange out". But I do agree that in a vacuum the O-O-W is a bit easier on the eyes.

It’s funny to me how we ache here for an “iconic” or identifiable helmet or kit that stands out and sets us apart from others, and yet some dislike the one kit that is literally the only one we sport that does this.

The all orange is polarizing for sure, and we’ve done it terribly for so long. I am admitting that even though I have a well above average love for the color orange.

We’ve absolutely nailed it with the current iteration. No other school with orange as a primary color does it this good imo. Not even Tennessee.

The current B/W/B stripes break it up perfectly.

It’s our primary color. Embrace it. Love it. Paint your kitchen orange. Shoot orange paintballs at your scUMmy neighbor down the street. Get a Golden Retriver and name it Naranja. Let it burn your retinas. Let it flow through you.
Feel the orange. BE the orange.

I'm all for O/O/W v. OSU, preferably with the arched-ILLINI helmets. I recall the 2008 game, when I happened to be in Chicago (for the first time in ~ 10 years) with friends, and watched the initial portion of a 30-20 home loss. It has been 17 years but I still remember how massively our unis rocked at the time. Our uniforms are even better now with the shoulder stripes. O/O/W is the bomb IMO. Terry Hawthorne's epic goal-line tackle v. Michigan rounds out this visual feast at the bottom.

Paint The Hall Orange is one of the most memorable pics/moments we have here.

If 50,000+ people do their gd job on Sat., it will be one of most memorable pictures in Gies Memorial Stadium history.

Wear orange, or stay home! (but don't stay home, JUST WEAR ORANGE!)

If I was in charge, we'd be handing out orange tshirts at the gates to every Illinois fan not in orange.

As a refresher, I'm 4-2 with my initial uniform predictions, with one close miss at Indiana (got the O/W/O right but guessed Slant ILLINOIS instead of Script) and one close miss at Purdue (got Block I right but guessed they'd go with O/W/W). I think I'm VERY likely to improve to 5-2 after Saturday, as I would be more than shocked if this isn't the look for our "Orange Out" vs. OSU:

What I like about the uniforms pics next to the columns is it makes it more clear that the columns are the symbolic aspect of the uniforms with the stripes.
