NAILED IT!

I hadn't realized that he was related to the Defensive Coordinator for the Chargers. Heck, I was a Chargers fan in those days and I didn't even know who their DC was :)

I feel like our look tonight is too much orange … needs a navy number on the jersey or navy pants. We have two colors, and it should never look like our colors are orange and white or navy and white.

I feel like Illinois should make a powder blue alternate, similar to the colors of their baseball team. I know powder blue and baseball have separate histories, but I think it would be cool.

Posted this in the pregame thread, but this game screams for a color rush with both teams wearing their traditional home uniforms. Tennessee goes white/orange/white, we go orange/blue/orange.

I don’t see Tennessee going with an alternate for a bowl game, so we could also go #BPOTR if Tennessee is the home team.

If the official announcement and logos for the game on the bowl website are an indication, we would be the home team since we are shown on the right. However, that’s merely an educated guess on my part.

If we are home team, then I have no issue arranging to allow Tennessee to wear orange and we wear blue. If we do choose to wear orange, I’d love to see orange/orange/white with either the script or the arched Illini decals.

Last night’s Bucs-Falcons game was a pretty good proxy for what an Illinois in blue vs Tennessee in orange bowl game could look like. Sign me up.

Your thoughts on combining your #BPOTR with my color rush idea and we see Illinois go with all-blue?

I'm not against blue pants or all-blue by any stretch. I just want to see us in blue vs Tennessee in Buccaneer Bruce creamsicle.

Love the swerve with the blue helmet! They threw a curve with the orange helmet and block I in a tweet a few weeks ago.

Now let’s see Tennessee in their home creamsicle and have a color rush.
